MiWay - Bait and Switcch

I've had some really good service from FNB Insurance Brokers (used to be First Bowring).

MiWay is part of Santam. i called Santam to get a comparative quote and the broker confirmed this and the premiums were similar so ended up staying with MiWay.

also with Miway since the beginning of 2011, it was my first car Citi golf;-). They managed to insure my car for under R900 although the premium did increase a year later. the car was broken into, sound system stolen twice, attempted hijack, the car was once one fire. Miway was there for me, they never gave me any trouble. Got another car which they still insured it for under 900 with R2500 access. But that was after i threatened to move to King Price.

I pay R921 for car and household, with no excess and car hire, is the citi golf that much of a risk it costs as much as more expensive cars to insure?
Go through a broker, have had one for five years best thing I ever did, pay less get great service as well.
 
Be Warned!! NEVER USE MIWAY INSURANCE!!
MiWay Insurance is a ripoff as they never pay when you claim. They just reject you claim and let you do the work of trying to take them to court.
 
I got a quote from AON, cheaper than my Outsurance (premiums & excess).

The quote comes thru, the letterhead is Auto & General.

Am I justified in feeling uneasy?
 
We have been using APBCO (Legacy) brokers for years. No complaints.
 
I am with a broker through santam. 3 claims in the last year and no issues with payments or service.

Nope. I have been with AON for a number of years now without any concerns. I recently had a claim for damage casued by lightning which came to abour R35K, they handled my claim for me and only had to pay R500 excess.
