From the new Apple App Store Review Guidelines:

We view Apps different than books or songs, which we do not curate. If you want to criticize a religion, write a book. If you want to describe sex, write a book or a song, or create a medical app. It can get complicated, but we have decided to not allow certain kinds of content in the App Store.

We have over 250,000 apps in the App Store. We don’t need any more Fart apps. If your app doesn’t do something useful or provide some form of lasting entertainment, it may not be accepted.

We will reject Apps for any content or behavior that we believe is over the line. What line, you ask? Well, as a Supreme Court Justice once said, “I’ll know it when I see it”. And we think that you will also know it when you cross it.

If your app is rejected, we have a Review Board that you can appeal to. If you run to the press and trash us, it never helps.

Lastly, we love this stuff too, and honor what you do. We’re really trying our best to create the best platform in the world for you to express your talents and make a living too. If it sounds like we’re control freaks, well, maybe it’s because we’re so committed to our users and making sure they have a quality experience with our products. Just like almost all of you are too.

Did you read the article? It's about the danger of carriers/networks breaking Android by abusing is openess. Android's then not so "open" anymore which makes the Apple/iOS model look better.

Not really. Aside from the fact that its not an issue here, users still have a choice of phones and carriers. Or better yet buy a phone cash. No carrier crapware. Unlike Apple who will rather brick your phone than allow you any sort of choice. It's another stupid article - some Android phones aren't open therefore Android is not open. Why do all iPhone muppets have such crap logic?

I just checked all the threads that you posted in cmyplay and 95% of them relate to either Apple or Android, spanning from Apple media players, desktops to mobile phones.

95% huh? Is that an exact calculation or is it made up like the rest of your arguments?

In each thread you either start a fight and attack the Android users or tell everyone how brilliant Apple products are.

I fully expect to draw criticism & insult for the following paragraphs:

I am a fan of Apple's products. I am privelleged enough to use their desktop machines at home and at work. I also find myself in a position to upgrade to new iterations of the iPhone every year - something I intend to do into perpetuity.

I am not a closed minded person and I grew up lusting after products made by a number of different consumer electronics companies. My point is this: what bigger statement could Samsung make than by converting an established user of a rival product over to their side?

Although it pains me to no end, I would offer to use the Wave for 2 weeks (the approximate timeframe before the iPhone 4 reaches South Africa in an official capacity). I won't touch any other smartphone during this time. I even offer to write a review of the handset - free of charge - documenting my experience of the new OS in all it's glory/mediocrity/failure.

If by the end of this period I am not convinced by the wave, I'll give it back and upgrade to the iPhone 4 as planned. However if I am converted, I will deliver a brand new Samsung Wave to Adoxographist's mother courtesy of my own contract upgrade.

I'm sure the word fanboy will be thrown around in the comments that follow, but I'll leave you with this: the very same person to use that word is merely a faboy cut from a different cloth.

Hey, guy, you're the one who started losing his temper and hurling insults. I structured my argument in a way that counters the points that you were making. I'm being honest when I say that you haven't convinced me that Android is better because you can choose different handsets. The end-user's experience is better on iOS, in my opinion. I don't see the benefits of making the platform a free-for-all. That's exactly why Windows is plagued by so much malware.

Now if you want to continue getting abusive and personal because you have no replies to a proper argument, let's do that. I haven't been in a barney since high-school.

These forums do seem to attract trolls. I'll be the first to admit that I've posted flames but I'd also like to point out that these posts have been in response to questionable postings. Juvenile? Sure. But you can't take an effect and make it the cause. Jack White taught me that.

Please, convince me that Android is superior to every single OS out there. In many of my previous posts I've shown that I'm open minded about technology. I'm open to your opinion. Tell me what you think makes it superior - and don't tell me it's the openness, I'd like some substance to your reply.
