Mobile termination rate talks between operators terminated

Ag whats new... we could have all expected this ...

While this is not a great development, it may mean far more drastic interconnect rates cuts forced upon operators. It may take a bit longer, but now it will be law rather than an agreement.

Yup, vodacon and emptyN probably did not want to pay ball, so now the ball is out of their court.

Time to see how the "new" DoC plays ball :D

O I hope that ICASA takes a firm stand and listens to the DoC.

I know that is a long shot, but there is still a very slight possibility - even if its only 0.00000000001%, its still a possibility.

WTF!

Ghezus!

I hope what you're saying is holds true rpm, but how much longer?

The DoC and the Portfolio Commitee better stamp some meaning into these people and get this sorted ASAP.

The Act has been in place for so many years, one would think that ICASA had it under wraps by now.

Neotel's statement sounds too much like a standard spin for my liking...

New movie coming out soon : Schwarzenegger doing a final movie - Terminator 4 - Terminating the Cellular Networks :D

Let's hope that after this termination, we get some imposition. As in, Imposing lower Interconnect rates.

Probably not. Keep in mind the only reason the DoC cares about the high interconnect rates is their cashcow telscum is on the short end of the stick. They have to lower interconnect to increase their own profits. Nobody ever said anything of ensuring that those savings are passed on to the consumers

This is what Neotel CEO Ajay Panday is punting: make sure the savings are passed on to consumers. This is certainly not a given!

Who regulates ICASA? Cos everyone that works there should be fired.

Yea, neofail have been punting "lower prices" since they started entering the market. I am yet to see neofail prices that are not R(telscum price - 0.0x% + "we offer better value spin")

What depresses me is that there is always talk, talk, talk, talk and promises. Mybroadband publishes stacks of articles on the subject. I start to get hopeful and then it all falls apart. Then the cycle starts again...

To quote a great *pun* man.

I eat because I'm unhappy, I'm unhappy because I eat.
It's a vicious circle.

Fat Bastard

Another ICASA failure, well down boys! It must be hard work maintaining your 100% failure record. /sarcasm

Africa is God's blindspot.

Really, this place is just too incompetent for words.
