Mobile termination rate talks between operators terminated

If ICASA were clever, they would say, look, either you agree with what we propose or we regulate, and you might expect some more stringent restrictions if that is the case!
almost word for word what they did say in the meeting

not sure i saw anyone shaking too badly

While this is not a great development, it may mean far more drastic interconnect rates cuts forced upon operators. It may take a bit longer, but now it will be law rather than an agreement.

Thats how I read the article I think.

ICASA are gatvol with being beat around the bush by the mobile operators and are basically ganna soon say "well these are the rules".

I think the new government is sore over their loss of Vodacom and those profits going to COPE, so I hope to see some heavy handed justice handed out by ICASA who have fantastic motivation from the new ANC powers that be.

New movie coming out soon : Schwarzenegger doing a final movie - Terminator 4 - Terminating the Cellular Networks :D
I had high hopes for "Schwarzenegger doing a final movie - Terminator 4 - Terminating the incompetent Communications Authority of South Africa, or iCASA"

Personally I think the beating around the bush is being done by ICASA.

Under tbones rule, I would have agreed with you. It served those in power in the ANC to beat around the bush. The new administration with a strong COSATU influence and a pissed of "I didnt get my share of the vodacom pie" gripe. Im not sure.

Everyone wants to dip their hands in the honey... and when the honey is taken away the toys start to be thrown out the cot.

Thats how I see the enforcement of RICA.. and this all of a sudden interest to reduce interconnect rates. ICASA does nothing for years.. now all of a sudden after been drawn over the coals by the new administration.. are all uppity.

Im probably wrong, but that where Im leaning at the moment.

I remember a picture of a woman carrying a poster in a protest march against the war in Iraq: The only bush I trust is my own! Wonder what iCASA is hoping to beat out of the bush...
