Monitor advice pls

i doubt postman

i dont really think considering the price of 22" lcd's that would be able to sell many

im pretty sure ppl would rather spend 2k on an lcd than 1.6k or 1.8k on a huge monitor that looks like crap

because lets be honest once you go lcd you cannot go back

crt looks like utter crap compared to an lcd

So I can't seem to find the 932BF in stock so I'm now looking for another brand.

Also I've been looking at www.widescreengamingforum.com to check out the supported games and if the oldies I like are supported I might, I say might still be tempted to go for a 22". ;)

alan believe me man

you will not regret it

i had my doubts about a 22" but when i opened it up and finally got it all setup i was blown away man

What about the 20" non-widescreen acer? saw one at incredible, looked amazing it runs at a higher res than 1280x1024

Acer P243W, this monitor is good, been using it for a while and no problems, bit pricy though, but good one for long-term

http://www.pricecheck.co.za/offers/32065/Acer+AL2017+20"+LCD+Monitor/

Been looking at the Samsung SyncMaster 226BW and found this interesting article.

Samsung 226BW A and S series: The verdict

In the beginning everything was just fine. Then something went terribly wrong. It started with two successive and back to back shortages, which Samsung claimed was due to a poor supply of bezels.

So there were few orders in the beginning. Then in February, as Samsung promised, the situation returned to normal and clients finally received their screens. However, almost immediately a wave of discontent hit forums. A new version had appeared, recognized on the back of monitors by its sticker. Some were S series (those which we tested, « S » meaning whose panel’s origin was Samsung), other A series – for AU Optronics, a current competitor. The reputation of the « A » only got worse and the witch hunt began.

I concur with most of the people here...

This is the progression or evolution if you will of PC Display usage:
1. Use CRT and think it's the cats whiskers
2. Take the plunge and get an LCD
3. Wonder why the hell you ever had a CRT
4. Ponder about the whole widescreen thing
5. Get a widescreen and wonder why you stuck to lettebox so long

I started out with a 19" LCD, 4:3 aspect, moved up to 22" WS, then 24" WS and now I'm at 30" WS. Where do I go from here??

If you're still set on a 19" LCD, I've got a 2ms Benq one that's pretty much brand new. It's one of their more high end gaming panels, you can check it out here.
