Hey guys,

Currently have Samsung 23" LCD plugged into MSI GTX 650ti ( DVI connector )

LCD is busy giving in ( Confirmed hardware issue so it's NOT the graphics card ) so I want to use a temp LCD . 19" DELL ( Not widescreen )

Problem:

19" DELL LCD works 100% on another PC via onboard display.

Plug DELL 19" LCD into my GTX 650ti.... Just has that orange standby light. No display.

Reboot PC, same thing

Took resolution down to 800x600... same thing

DELL 19" LCD has VGA connector plugged into LCD, and the other end has VGA ---> DVI adaptor ( so it can plug into my graphics card )

Why isn't the DELL 19" LCD showing anything?

Does anyone know?

Yes on the GPU at the back there are only 2x DVI ports. NO VGA

So I guess onboard display for me with this 19" DELL LCD?

Active adaptor will work, but it is expensive. Better buy new monitor.
What is problem with Samsung?

@sajunky

Thin red & blue vertical lines on right side of screen. Lines still present when NO cable is plugged in.

@KhoisanX

I'll poke around some more

Thx so much guys !

Nope, only has 2x DVI ports.

That sucks :(
I think KhoisanX meant that you should try another DVI port on the display card, as only one is passing analog signals. As one doesn't work, the other would work.

The monitor cannot be repaired, but don't trash it, maybe I will buy it for parts.
