More fibre coming

i want fibre to my house! :-D
I see Dark Fibre Africa has put down some fibre outside of our offices yesterday and today. Traffic was a mess, but I am willing to suffer a bit if they connect our building :)

Traffic is generally a mess most days anyway. For fibre I would give up half of my production factory :D

How are they going to get fibre to every house. I am under the impression that the last mile is always the most difficult
FTTH will take some time. First they are connecting buildings (many bulding are already served by fibre), then estates and then other homes. Very expensive to take fibre to a single residential property, so for now other last mile access methods - typically wireless - will be used.

Why doesn't the government sponsor a national Fibre grid? They can fly economy class for a year and they'll have enough money to make such an investment in the country.

and sit with us in the back.... you must be crazy!

Dark Fibre Africa... you couldn't find a better name for a company.... I wonder if they are ever going to light it up.

My post count = 666. I have just joined Telkom!

Infraco is in fact a Government sponsored national fibre project. Neotel manages it if I am not mistaken...

Was thinking the same :D I even traced a mental path across the parking lot to us :p

According to Vodacom Business executive Wally Beelders, the company has partnered with Neotel and MTN for its inter-city network.

Ooh another nail in Telscum's coffin!
The divide continues! :D
