As long as affirmative action is applied, news about new jobs will always be irrelevant to one group of society.

Yes poor comment.
All the developers that I work with are black, bar me and one other guy. All of them got their jobs on their ability, none of the posts were AA.
Moan less please.... and get a life.
Didn't you just prove his point right there ?
Btw, how would you know if they were AA post's or not ? They could easily have been, if the recruiter simply chose black people with talent it is still an AA position regardless.
AA is just plain Racist.End of story.
The goverment can sugar coat it all they want.
The only thing that gets me is these stupid tests they want you to write! If they spend a few minutes reading through my CV - not paging or scanning but actually reading, they would see that I am not some guy looking for a quick fix, but that I have proper experience and a proper varsity degree.
I just went for an 'interview'. Arriving there I was given a test, and not a practical, but a theory. It really felt like going back to my varsity days!
How that test will be able to tell them that I can actually code is beyond me!

Because people lie on their CV's, period. Although I prefer to quiz a new member personally as book learning can be just as big a problem and most test questions would come from some same source. I'd rather take someone who can learn and think outside the box than someone who can answer the questions straight that could be learnt from brain dumps or parrot fashion. Also prefer someone who actually has a passion for the industry rather than , how did someone say , a "werker".
How did I prove his point ?
1: I was part of the interview process for the new guys.
2: The older guys were hired at the same time as me.
Yes AA is Racist, don't try tell me that everyone complies with it. Its just another excuse for people to complain. If you loose your job to an AA post then you wern't really worth anything in the first place.
PS: I work at a big company. I have never struggled to get a job.
Well typically they would fill up the low value jobs with AA positions such as cleaners/labourers ect I would think, but if there is an actual quota for a ratio between black people and money earned then its a different story.
But still, don't take the fact that you have been lucky so lightly, there are real professionals out there struggling to find jobs because of this AA bullshlt and just because you have value in your company at this point in time, don't think you can't be easily replaced when someone of your level that is black gets you thrown out on the street because of AA.
I know a guy that asks potential system administrators is they are lazy. The ones that says "no" is shown the door. His reasoning is that a sysadmin must always find the easiest way of doing something, and automate as much as possible. One that is lazy, will do just that.
