More than 1 in 3 men rape - study

Would be interesting to see the demographics of those interviewed e.g. Language, age, economic situation, education, nationality, employment sector...race

Accurate or not, if someone is happy enough to admit to it, it is indicative of the degradation of our society. Where are the morals this country once boasted of? :(

Perhaps it's up to those of us who still believe in morality, dignity and in the future to ensure that our children and their children are taught respect?

I agree with the first part of that sentence, but the second part makes you sounds stupid. People wouldn't migrate to SA anyway... Their are actually hundreds of people leaving SA each year because of the economy and the corrupt police and the lack of services, lets just say they don't feel safe any more cause that's the truth, And to be honest, I don't think America/Europe and Australia give 2 ****s about the crap that goes on in South Africa and they certainly don't have the time and money to throw around on a phony rape survey.

Rape is chronic all over africa. Gang rape is very big actually.

They need to study on how many have raped babies as well.
Rape is also a form of initiation among the men: new inmates in male prisons are inevitably raped upon arrival by all members of any given cell although most lead heterosexual lifestyles outside of prison. The sexual abuse of children is also common in townships.

the only thing this article proves is that they had a ****ty statistician. I honestly don't believe that 1/3 of the people in the country think that rape is ok, its ridiculous.

Perhaps not 1/3 but the amount of rapes suggest somewhere someone must be taught it, i mean surely you cannot look at a girl and say fine i'm going to rape you because well ummm err yea i think i should. You grow up with it, you see it happen you think it is normal to dominate.

If people can believe raping a baby will cure aids then you can believe anything. Perhaps not 1/3 but there is no doubt it is very high for people who don't think is ok. The stories that go unreported must be astronomical as well.

Go check out some countries in africa where rape is off the chart. Rape is very big in africa and i don't know if people accept it or live/deal with it in all honestly.

I wonder. If you compare white, black, coloured, indian and asian men in JHB, who are the most per capita ratio statistically significant rapists?
