yup and so is my post- proportionately the DA is doing a hell of a lot better than the ANC

here is a report that you may find interesting

A recent report by the National Treasury, confirmed that the City of Cape Town attained its sixth successive unqualified audit. Tim Harris MP, DA Member of the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) said that the report showed how well the City of Cape Town was doing, in terms of its quality service delivery, sound financial planning and good governance.

The National Treasury’s mid year budget and performance assessment praised the City’s “robust financial systems” and welcomed the “good planning and adequate capacity to spend by the City”, said Harris.

The report also welcomed the creation of 10,000 permanent jobs (and 16 300 temporary jobs), in spite of the economic recession. Statistics South Africa recently indicated that between the last quarter of 2009 and the first quarter of 2010, the unemployment rate in the DA-governed Western Cape had fallen by more than 1%. No doubt, the City of Cape Town’s strong job creation record played a large part in this, said Harris.

interesting that the unemployment has dropped by 1% in the DA run western Cape, while the unemployment in the rest of the ANC run country has risen hmmmm
 
Djtay's posts are a sad reflection just how of the majority of the masses have been brainwashed by their leaders, to believe that all was bad prior to 1994, and that only good existed post-1994. The expression "there are none so blind as those that will not see" is apt here.

What would you have the D.A do regarding the illegal squatters?
SUGGESTIONS and recommendation instead of criticism dictate a willingness to become involved to the problem rather than sitting on the fringes moaning.

Djtay's arguments are similar to the recording industries' 250 000 jobs lost to US economy and $6billion revenue loss... I.e. completely without supporting evidence or truth (or even a logial thought pattern).

Thing is, I dont think this strawman-ish argument style is per design. I think he is simply unable mentally to comprehend that he is supporting a misconception derived from lifelong indoctrination, whereas we sidestep his strawman and just point at the real thing and dismiss his arguments. He genuinly believes the strawman is the real thing, and only thing. He cant see past it.
The steriods seem to have left him uncapable of arguing logically and coherently.

Either that or hes getting a big fat brown envelope form his cousin Julius for PR work...

anyhow, not wasting any more time here... there is a saying i quite like:

Never argue with an idiot... they drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

So... i'm off before i get dragged down a few miles and a few dozen IQ points...

All politicians are lying , thieving scumbags whether they ANC, DA, ID, KISS whoever. We should never defend them.
 
Yes, I see they are very underhanded. So much so that they are winning ANC stronghold wards...

Cape Town - A key Gugulethu voting ward, where ANC supporters trashed a Democratic Alliance meeting, has been won by the DA.

The Independent Electoral Commission said on Thursday morning that the DA had polled 60.3% in Gugulethu-Heideveld, up from 26.2% in 2006.

The ANC polled 37.7%, down from 53% in 2006.

The ANC has not won a ward in the Western Cape since the April 2009 national election.

DA leader Helen Zille said Wednesday's victory in Gugulethu and another in Grabouw, where it polled 48.12% up from 9.6% in 2006, were "endorsements of her party's performance in government".

"The DA has never won these wards since 1994," she said.

If I was living there I'd be grateful that someone was putting up a wall to hide my shame. Would any of you want the obviously affluent attendees of these soccer matches looking at you in your state of squalor? I think not.

The DA clearly has no alternative accomodation for these people, yet, that is why they are being allowed to stay there. Do we want to be remembered by the rest of the world for our squatter camps, or our world class establishments? Djtay, the DA has worked miracles in the Cape Town in such a short time & all you've got against them is a wall? Go and find a proper gripe & come back to us. :p
