What are the pros and cons of exercising in the morning vs exercising in the evening,in terms of practicality and effectiveness?

well what kind of excercise?

i frankly feel i couldnt go to gym in the morning being half asleep and also going in the afternoon lets me get my energy levels up and my carbs etc in

a pro in the morning i would say would def be the cooler weather
con definitely not being able to get sufficient food in before and being half asleep.

I can't hack it in the evening. Morning is when you're the freshest. You have the whole day ahead of you. You gym, shower, get dressed, go to work feeling like $1mil.

Speak for yourself. Hate mornings no way can I exercise when getting up is hard enough

Late afternoons/early evening for me. Tried mornings and just couldn't get going. It's something you have to try and decide what suits you best.

Plus, you will burn more fat in the morning if you do it before you stuff yourself full of food.
sleeping burns calories, and if you top that off with a good workout, you will see better results of your work out, if fat burning is what you're after.

Plus, yes, it just makes you feel beter. I myself have much higher energy levels if I work out int he morning.

+1. Used to do mornings when I was single. Now that I have SWAMBO (only found out what this acronym meant this morning and have been dying to use it) and an infant, I can't do mornings 'cause I have to help get the bundle of joy sorted and I can't do evenings 'cause I need to help get the bundle of joy fed and bathed.

/makes whipping sound

I don't know, but I strongly advise against jogging in peak traffic. Those fumes can't be healthy.

Morning for me, something always comes up in the evening plus the air is nice and crispy after the dew as fallen. :)

Remember to just pick a time which suits you, rather burn calories effictively. Broscience suggests that training on an empty stomach is better however realise that if you still feel tired in the mornings then just go for the evenings

If you are not a morning person just do evenings then.

I heard that getting up and exercising straight away can be bad for your sleepy heart.

Personally, I like to run in the evening during the week and mid-morning on weekends. But when I do exercise in the morning I feel good all day.

The best time to exercise if you want to burn fat is in the mornings. If you can't do it in the morning anytime of the day is good.

I try to be in the gym every morning at 5am, but sometimes its just not possible so I try and go to gym during my lunch hour.

I am not a morning person, but i prefer mornings.
Purely cos when i say i will go gym in the morning, i go, when i say afternoon, i end up making excuses.
Also:
According to Trainer: Morning = fat burning, afternoon = muscle building.

If you do mornings, low impact exercise, that works cardio - You want to warm up the body gently, increase heart rate gently, you dont want to tire yourself out or you risk burn out half way through the day.
Evenings is better for high energy exercise, to burn off what excess energy you have from the day.

Evening is the tricky bit, as it is for most also supper time, which too often means the biggest meal of the day.
This has an impact on your weight gain or loss depending on if you eat , wait and then go exercise, or whether you exercise then come home and eat.
