The upcoming film is being directed by newcomer Simon McQuoid from a script by Greg Russo, which will reportedly be leaning hard into the original video game franchise’s R-rated roots, including showcasing the games’ iconically gruesome fatalities on-screen for the first time.

The new R-rated Mortal Kombat movie reboot has been in production for ages, but now we finally know when it will be arriving in theatres and on HBO Max.

Lol I enjoyed the first Doom movie with The Rock but I haven’t watched Annihilation yet. The reviews say it’s terrible. Is it really that bad lol. I’m thinking of just watching it for the laughs instead of taking it seriously. What you think? Worth spending time on this for amusement purposes?

I'd rather watch street fighter the movie; it's that bad.
 
Keen to see how this is going to look
But not keen on playing it, Im getting too old to play these things now as I start heading for my 50s
Reactions are waaaaaay slower these days
 
I'd only consider watching this for Kitana.
 
Street Fighter was saved by its cheesiness. You watch it years later and its actually quite funny in a way that they didn't intend it to be.

Asano Tadanobu as Raiden, I will be watching. I don't know the other actors, and I am really worried about Kano. Jax, whoever is cast as Jax, needs to be a 'hands-on' person.

The actress who is Mileena is pretty new, but then again this is video game movie which is usually raw.

Hiroyuki Sanada, and the already mentioned Tadanobu are superb actors.

There needs to be chemistry between Raiden, Liu Kang and Kung Lao, likewise between Sonya and Jax, with Johnny being a dick and having a hard-on because Sonya... Both Sub-Zero and Scorpion need to be someone secretive and personal, but in contrast to each other. Kano is pretty much a ****, but a **** who can stand his ground. Kabal is a yes man and Kano's braai buddy. Don't ask Mileena to give you a BJ, Kitana won't give you a BJ.

Shang Tsung is always the real baddy, and also the best villian in gaming history.

Reptile is pretty much written out, who is Reptile?
