Mortal Kombat (reboot) 2021

Oh, I didn't even realise there were no cage and in that context it didn't bother me. Hopefully it is at least 'good' to better...

It is a reboot, and MK have a thing with bringing in new characters and changing origins here and there because time travel is lore. I don’t mind that Cage is not there, but to keep MK ‘authentic’ they need Cage to give continuity to Sonya. It was only NetherRealm Studios which explored the lore beyond this point, and the movie is a unique Warner Bros. title. What I did note by watching the trailer was that they want to keep the Shirai Ryu and Lin Kuei clans origin story original.

I am sure they are planning a second movie.

I like how the trailers use some beats from the Mortal Kombat theme tune.

Hope it's a decent movie, and not all the best parts shown in the trailer kinda movie !

* Holds thumbs * !

Is it coming out in cinema or on netflix/showmax etc ?
A cinema release is planned, I guess for us as well. But it will also stream on HBO Max.

‘Mortal Kombat’ Movie Will Push R Rating To Its Limit

According to director Simon McQuoid, the new Mortal Kombat movie will be very R-rated. Everything we’ve learned about the film up until this point indicates that Mortal Kombat will be bloody, but now we know exactly how much. The movie will push the boundaries of its R-rating, but will stop short of being “unreleasable.” Read More: ‘Mortal Kombat’ Movie Will Push R Rating To Its Limit | https://screencrush.com/mortal-kombat-movie-r-rated-violence/?utm_source=tsmclip&utm_medium=referral

Caviar customizes iPhone 12 Pro (Max) with designs inspired by Mortal Kombat characters

There’s a new Mortal Combat movie on the way, it will hit theaters and HBO Max on April 16. This inspired Caviar to create a trio of customized iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max phones based on three characters from the movie and the game that it is based on.

First up is one of the most recognizable characters of the series, Scorpion. The back features Scorpion’s signature weapon, made out of strong titanium and covered with gold-colored PVD coating. There are also decorative inserts made out of fiberglass (G-10 laminate) and epoxy resin.

Nice!!

oh the memories of youth with the endless hours of mk2, mk3 and mk trilogy.

Did anyone know that Mortal Kombat actually started yesterday at our local cinemas?

I was so fixated on the 23 April release date, only to find out that 23 April is the US release date for the movie, not the international release date. I bought my ticket on Wednesday and saw it at 11:00 yesterday morning at my local NuMetro :D

I won't post any spoilers, let's just say they really did a phenomenal job at portraying the fights, fatalities, blood and gore. While there are some pacing issues and a few plot holes (why wouldn't there be), overall it was highly satisfying and worth the R83 that I spent to see it.

If you can't wait for 23 April to sail the "high seas" to watch at home, do yourself a favour and see it on the big screen. It's worth it

I watched it yesterday and I was entertained. I won't say it is a good movie, but I don't feel that I waisted money on it.

After the movie I had a who is still left feeling. Except for the obvious one left in the poster at the end. Everyone can't come alive again. I really thought Cole was going to be the new Subzero

Can't be worse than MKA or street fighter. Test your might is due 23rd; I'll catch it on hbo. Sadly they pushed back mk legacy's season 3 getting the flick out. Hopefully it follows...

A buddy just watched it at the bioscope earlier. His words:

Do yourselves a favour and go watch Mortal Kombat. The fight scenes and fatalities were amazing. F*#king brilliant. It's the type of movie well worth the big screen experience.

He urged me to watch it as well. I said I'll wait a few more days for the US & HBO Max release.

You've got some self-restraint, I'll give you that. Once I saw it released locally on 9 April, I just had to see it, day one, lol!

Haha, so fans of Mortal Kombat have been waiting for the new reboot movie since the mid-90's! Well the reviews are in and... we find out that there is no actual fighting tournament in the movie. In fact the plot of the movie is about how they try to avoid fighting in the tournament. Imagine that? A Mortal Kombat movie... with no mortal combat! Way to shoot yourself in the foot!
