To think...most of us used to despise MWeb :D It's amazing how cheap prices can completely re-brand a company for the better.

Check back in a month or two once MWEB have banned half their new subscribers.

Wow this board is FOS, MWEB bans less than 50 of their 70000 new subscribers and the whining explodes like bile all over the forum. Stop being babies and leave if the AUP is too unspecific or you are not happy. Frankly it's getting boring and it's starting to monopolize myBB.

The same can be said for useless posts such as this.

Here is a post and survey started by rpm about trust in ISPs - and we're not supposed to commet - absolutely genius.

I'm not surprised that Mweb is the most trusted. I've downloaded a lot (200Gb+) and they don't cap or shape me more than other users. They provide excellent service and will advice most people to get the uncapped package.

The other ISPs thats cheaper comes with bad service. My brother is running the 384kbs Afrihost uncapped package and they do shape him to slower than 384kbs.Mweb started the market with uncapped and the others fail to come with better offers.

BTW I do so much streaming its not even funny. I've been a customer since they started and I'm still on.

I don't realy trust any Isp, I just move to the cheaper one, but I am thankfull to Mweb for giving me a taste of uncapped, Its not 'true' uncapped but its good enough for me.

its just 20 votes man Lol...

U can't make a generalised statement like that if you see only 20 people

Uhm... if we could somehow eliminate "Which ISP provides uncapped" from the trust equation things might be a bit different :-)

I trust WebAfrica way more than MWeb for the following reasons:
1) They are small - too small for idiots in the organization to get away with nonsense for long. In fact, the people who work there actually respond with their real names on this forum. MWeb as part of the NASPERS empire... different story.
2) WebAfrica has no massive vested interest - they are an ISP and not a media empire. MWeb however, different story again.
3) Matthew Tagg speaks his mind - even if it makes him unpopular. I do think he honestly believed that some of the ISP's offerings would be unsustainable, but he might have been wrong once or twice - it is not the same as dishonest. The best thing is he will actually post on this forum - even when he knows that he will get torn to bits if a he voices something against popular opinion.

Glad to see WA up there, definitely deserve it. I can't help wondering if people might be confusing "trust" with R/gig, judging by some comments.

This is one of the reasons why we defined trust so widely. This is really close to a ‘brand’ survey, and I think gives a fair overview of what consumers currently feel towards the various ISPs.

Ah ok, makes sense in that context.

Just as a follow up answer: We are planning a more comprehensive ‘broadband survey’ where users will get a chance to rate their own ISP according to a variety of criteria like speed, support, pricing and the like.
