And it looks like Web Africa has overtaken MWEB - no real surprise.

It is awesome - from the number of posts knocking WebAfrica it would have seemed they are the least trust worthy But they have been quiet and stable, delivering service and not making rash decisions. And it is paying off - if they launched an uncapped product just for the sake of competing with MWeb the graphs above would have told a way different story. From my experience - apart from 1 admin hick-up which was resolved relatively quickly WebAfrica service has been impeccable!

Err... I was actually trying to make the point that my WebAfrica experience has been trouble free. Apart from the 1 issue (which was solved quickly) I had no other issues. No problem. That is why I voted for you. That is why I recommend WebAfrica to people I know. Excellent service. I trust WebAfrica.

The one minor issue I had actually highlights how great the service is - problems will occur from time to time no matter who or what, and it is the way companies resolve them that inspires trust.

Look at those thread titles and tell me MWeb deserves to win as the survey currently stands.

Don't get me wrong - if the survey mentions cost or value for money too then Mweb would & should win easily. But on "trust"...no way....it hasn't even got redundancy. (Or do they now?)

I've been an Mweb subscriber on and off for about 15 years. I've never had any problems with them, and the 2 or 3 times I've called them for assistance on a billing or technical issue I've had no cause for comlaint. Am I supposed to distrust them because a whopping 0.1% of thier subscribers are unhappy (or at least unhappy enough to speak up on sites like MyBB and HelloPeter)?

I've had accounts with several ISPs but my WebAfrica acc is the most stable, reliable, never throttled nor shaped, but yes, also more expensive. My general experience with WA's staff has been positive.
The bottom line is that people have different needs when choosing ADSL accounts. For me reliability and redundancy is key. Some only judge an account based on the amount of data they can move per month, regardless of the experience. So the uncapped accounts are attractive because of price but the throttling, shaping and SEACOM outages put me off. Horses for courses.

Will be interesting to see how the broadband landscape changes when the other undersea cables like WACS etc. arrive. Once redundancy is assured and more bandwidth is made available, maybe the uncapped products will become more tolerable?
