Just clarify ,I have my own house on a separate piece of land

Mother in law - 2 Homes on the plot
Me-My own house paid off in full

I am fully independent from them if they go or stay it doesnt affect me

Then the proceeds from rentals/sales of those should go to the upkeep of care for your mother-inlaw.

This should affect you less than it would affect the other lady. She and previously also her hubby have been riding the gravy train for a couple of years. Time she starts earning her food that she eats.

Then its very simple here. Take the old lady to whoever is benefiting from the rentals of the old lady's place. Thats the person who should decide what to do with her and suffer because of her.
