Question about thickness on the 2nd Gen G... Is it really as chubby as it looks on photos/videos? I really hate chubby phones

Chubby? It's curvy.. Wouldnt say chubby it's not the thinnest phone ive used not the fattest either its in between. If that's the deciding factor for you didn't Huawei say they have the thinnest flagship?

Updated now to 5.0.2 . Looks smart, feels snappy. Hope the memory leak issue has gone. Will look at battery life changes

When I saw this I got all excited and checked my 1st gen Moto G single sim for updates, but alas...nothing :(

RANT: I am sitting with two supposedly pure Google Android devices (Moto G and Nexus 7) and the very least I was expecting was to get the update sooner rather than later. The wait is killing me :p

I manually flashed my Moto G 1st Gen to Lollipop a few hours ago and it seems good, but they turned off the feature to disable vibration when you get a call or a notification - WTF? Otherwise it seems okay, I will play with it this evening and see what I can find.

Anyways, for those who are keen to try as well (+- 1GB of files to download and took me 30 minutes to flash), you can find the guide I used at http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/general/gpe-ota-lrx21z-5-0-1-xt1033-xt1032-t2969847

OTA just arrived on Moto G 2nd Gen yesterday.
Still no update on the 1st gen XT1032?

Anyways, Day three of Lollipop and it's going well. I managed to turn the vibrate off, so my gripe in my above post has been resolved.

Overall I like it. I have to get used to the lock screen as previously I could swipe any direction to unlock, but now a swipe to the left opens the camera, a swipe to the right opens the dialer and a swipe upwards unlocks the phone.

The fact that you can double tap on a notification on the lock screen and zoom directly to it is very cool and saves a bit of time.

The brightness settings can go insanely low, and in a dark room it will even turn off the screen altogether if you set the auto slider all the way down and the ambient sensor picks up no surrounding light (I think this is a bug?)

Battery life is good, better than on KitKat. It shows you the estimated time when you will run out of juice and it also shows you the estimated time to fully charge if it's plugged in.

It has priority mode, where you can select which notifications make an audible sound at certain times of the day or night.

It is a lot smoother than KitKat, but the interface is very colourful and looks a bit 'childish' compared to KK.

I'll add more findings as I play around with it:D

Do you know how much screen on time you are getting now?

I'd guess around 5.5 hours, give or take. I will check tonight as yesterday was one of those atypical days when I was glued to the phone again.

Usually I manage about 4 - 4.5 hours but I have noticed the drain on Lollipop is much slower.

I am looking at getting the Motorola Moto G 2nd Gen. From Orange

I see it does not come with a charger.
What phone charger will be able to charge it?

Example please and advice.
Thanks

It comes with a Usb cable. You can charge it using any Usb power source or use a AC to usb plug from any other device
