Make sure he gets the newest (2015?) model. Its got a bigger battery.
To benefit from it one would probably need to turn off lte (not sure if it has such an option though).

A bigger battery is a bigger battery. From 1st gen to 2nd gen they increased the screen size, but kept the battery the same. What uses the most battery on a phone? The screen. By now increased the battery size they have brought the battery life back to par
Here:I would love to see some comparative benchmarks though.

We have the same phone so would like to know how it happened so we can know where the phone is vulnerable. It's gorilla glass after allPic of the shattered screen or it didn't happen?
Should be fine. I actually find the first gen I use better than what the S4 offered in terms of performance. Second gen is only an improvement over thatWhat would my experience be like coming from a Samsung S4 i9500 to a Moto G 2nd edition dual sim? The dual sim is a big drawcard for me.
Wondering if performance and screen res will both disappoint after the S4?
Hmmm, I was just lining up one of these for my work phone.
How's the 2nd gen in direct sunlight anyone?
Amoled screens perform the best in direct sunlight
