Moto G

Exactly, they have done away with proper bluetooth for example, which is one way they are saving power. I must admit they do a remarkable job with their power efficiency, but as I said it comes at a price.

Proper Bluetooth? It's still LE like every other modern phone?

What's wrong with iPhone Bluetooth? Is it the inability of sending of songs and photos?

I'm by no means a fan of any phone brand and try use any phone I can get my hands on.... So no, I'm not an Apple fanboy that just sees nothing wrong with the phone - there are issues with all phones

I don't think you can argue that Apple has crippled hardware, probably the best at the moment. Does it justify the price? I don't think so. Hopefully, hardware will get more efficient on the Android side (820/Samsung look promising) Then it goes in to the OS and ecosystem which gets subjective and personally iOS/iTunes don't interest me.

Their selective implementation of the bluetooth stack is but one example. Because they control both the hardware and software they can do amazing things... And get away with it

Not always the right things but their customers don't mind.

Well, I personally never use that... Bluetooth with my car works and with my dock too so I'm happy :D

I use bluetooth to share photos and files quite frequently and I know it is a no-no on Apple. But to your average iPhone user the botched-up Bluetooth stack is of no concern.

BT us relegated to music and car kit systems. With NFC etc sharing via BT is instinct.

Any marsh on g1?

Nope, it did get a security update last week, but it will stay on 5.1.1 Lollipop. Incredible phone, thanks again AirWolf. Guy who bought it from me is pretty happy with.

Saw a Redmi 2 today, very close to G3 16GB specs for less than R1900 at Game - very tempted. The UI is very close to Emotion UI from Huawei.
