Moto G

Nope, it did get a security update last week, but it will stay on 5.1.1 Lollipop. Incredible phone, thanks again AirWolf. Guy who bought it from me is pretty happy with.

Saw a Redmi 2 today, very close to G3 16GB specs for less than R1900 at Game - very tempted. The UI is very close to Emotion UI from Huawei.

Tempted on a Redmi 2 as well :)

Should be pretty good, Lenovo makes good phones.

Really hope so, there were some leaked pics not too long ago and talk of fingerprint scanners etc.

I'm really hoping they keep it simple, switch to AMOLED and up the battery. Thats all i need in a phone... the G3 looks like it'll go 3/4 years before becoming obsolete.

hopefully the same will be true of the G4 ....if not... i'll just get a G3 from Orange for even cheaper (price should drop somewhat once the G4 goes on sale) :)

Great to see some pretty positive comments on the G3 in this thread. I'm thinking of getting one soon, so I was wondering what your guys' thoughts were on the display. Read some pretty negative reviews on that, with claims of a pixelated display with inaccurate colours... Any of that even remotely true?

Display on the G3 is very good, this is a proper and well calibrated IPS screen and I cannot tell the difference between this 720 screen and my old Huawei P7 1080 screen. The G3 is brilliant. The Redmi 2 is also well worth a look.

Wonder if we gonna get the next Android N update?

If Android N comes out I hope they do it faster, some Samsung and LG phones got Marshmallow before my G3 got it. Guess it's because Lenovo has other priorities.

Probably not officially getting Android N on the G. :(

Also what will Android do when they reach Z? :p

Guess that is why they have numbers as well, so we can call it whatever we want even Android Boogyman or Android Homeview...

Unlike iPhone or Windows people used and stuck to the codenames instead of version numbers for some odd reason. Guess marketing might just switch to version numbers in the near future.

Edit: Odd bit of useless info, before Cupcake and other deserts the codenames use to be actual Androids: Astro Boy and Bender. I also notice Android N is not getting a name at all.

Thoughts so far?
Very similar to Lollipop. UI looks exactly the same. Some settings screens have changed and the SMS icon also. Apart from that I can't see the difference. Will take time to judge to see if the new battery saving feature help.

Anyone with a 1GB RAM Moto G3 experiencing a dramatic slowdown in performance since getting Marshmallow? Like the time it takes to open the camera app or capture an image? Or just general stalling when you use facebook?

My wife's 1GB Moto G3 is very slow compared to my 2GB Moto G2 now that we are both on Marshmallow.
