Moto G

Sound like a good idea :D

BTW have you seen this: http://mybroadband.co.za/news/gadgets/98022-smartphone-imports-in-sa-what-you-should-know.html

Using the same calculation on the Moto G 16GB Black from jadopado @ R2,189.42 it works out to be over 3k to get it here:

Item price = R2,189.42
+ 15% "Luxury item mark-up"
Taxable value = R2517.83
+ 21% duty and tax = R3046.57

Still not a bad price for a this phone though.

Yeah I read that. Ridiculous.

If I brought it over, my "luxury tax" would be a beer :D

To clarify, I'm not bringing in phones. I'm just willing to bring it for you from Dubai and save you the cost of shipping.

If you order one, so you have to order and pay for it on the site, I'll just bring it over.

That is a nice offer saguran. If I was looking to buy I might have taken you up on it (dont think its worth upgrading to moto g from the GS3). Where in SA are you coming to?

Just thought to myself, fck, you are a nice guy :D

Nah, from the GS3 not really. I upgraded from my SII, it was a minor upgrade, but I was just interested in the better screen and lack of physical buttons.

Coming to Pretoria.

So anyone imported from JadoPado? Did you have to pay customs?
They add Fedex International Priority for R722 would think that includes customs?

I don't think anybody has. The general opinion here is that people don't trust them and they don't know what will happen to the taxes. Somebody as already asked about the taxes. I think it's a little back in the thread.
As for trusting them, I can assure you that their service is good and their products are 100%.

Hey guys I saw this link

http://www.importitall.co.za/Moto-G--Boost-Mobile-Prepaid-Phone-Boost-ap-B00HPP3VW2.html

Has anybody bought from them before are they reliable and
Does anybody know how to unlock the phone, because this price seems absolutely ridiculous

I have just ordered a Motorola Droid Maxx from them for R999 including postage. It is a Verizon phone but after some quick research on the net it seems to be a 4G Global Ready device and will work on other networks.

So at that price they are either going to send me something completely different or I won't be able to use it here because it's locked or I will be able to use it here.

I would take the chance but only if I'm certain that the Fedex International Priority for R722 includes customs because that's a good chunk of change for shipping only. Paypal would also seal the deal

I would do the same if that shipping price included all taxes...

I see you can use Paypal that's great. I suspect it would include customs as DHL offers something like that, but i'm but a novice at these things.

You guys know you can just it order directly from Amazon?

I ordered the 16 GB version: http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Moto...ie=UTF8&qid=1397058795&sr=8-1&keywords=moto+g
And a Cruzerlite case: http://www.amazon.com/Cruzerlite-Bu...=1397058815&sr=8-4&keywords=moto+g+cruzerlite.

It came to around R2900 including shipping and import fees.
I am still waiting for it to be delivered though, so we'll see.
Thats good news but I want the dual sim version. Can that be ordered from Amazon? I get the message "can't ship to your country"
You have a link for the dual sim version from Amazon?

When you order from Orange online they have an agreement with DHL to pay the vat and duties on your behalf and is included in the price. So no cost when it lands.

When I got my wife's moto g. I got schooled on this. To bad it seems they don't import this phone any more as it is a cracker for the cost.
