Moto G

Just a heads up. WiFi issues on lollipop. Am unable to connect to channel 12 AP's . Sucks as we have moved into office with shared infrastructure...so cannot change ap channel
I also picked this up, cannot access our office Wifi but everywhere else it works just fine...

One would think they'd test this stuff properly before rolling it out to the public

I think US channels are 1-11 so maybe that's what they tested?
Hopefully 5.1 coming soon.....with bug fixes. I also have Nexus 4 on 5.02 but it works fine on the wifi

I've unlocked the bootloader and rooted running BlissPop, a CM12 based rom and it's awesome.

I had flashed a stock Lollipop rom about a month ago, but LP has been having a ram management issue for a while now.. so a lot of the LP roms have had this issue where sometimes you hit the home button, and it redraws the home screen.. as though the homescreen and widgets were released from memory by the load placed on the RAM by other apps.. so every now and then, hitting home meant a slight 2 second delay - which was usable. It just didn't feel snappy.

Some of the newer CM12 based roms have fixed this issue.. it's very very snappy.

You guys who got the OTA to the proper stock 5.0.2 - are any of you experiencing the home redraw thing? It might happen after a bit of use, once you've run a bunch of apps to tax the memory management a little. Chrome used to cause this for me a lot before. Apparently Google is working on a fix, as this bug affects a lot of LP devices.. I'm not sure if the fix is in your OTA already or it's coming later in 5.1 or something?

I see the 2nd gen LTE model is available from Orange & it comes with Lollipop.

It has a bigger battery than the 2ng gen Moto g. I wonder if it would last longer if one disables LTE...

It should...

Is there a way to enable battery percentage in the status bar? I didn't find the option

Makes sense, GB should get it some time soon. Anything different from 5.0.2?

You can pin an app (kiosk mode) and set it to require a pin when you try and exit the pinned mode.

Speed improvements, but battery life is the same.

Also it has a smart unlock feature which I didn't notice before; if you keep the phone on you i.e. keep the accelerometer active, it won't lock and ask for a PIN if you choose it as your method of security. If you set it down for a period of time of manually lock it with the lock button, it will ask for the PIN on unlocking.

Also the notification drawer has a few more settings than before.

Just got my G v2. Didn't go for the LTE version.

Happy with the screen.
Lack of physical button is something I have to get used to.

This is a very long thread, so not going to read through it all, but is everyone still happy with their moto gs? Reviews look quite good, basically asking on my dads behalf, hes looking at the moto g 2nd edition in the orange shop. Hes got the knack of choosing the worst phone available everytime!
