MotoGP 2022

Yeah, Fabio was next level today. As the commentators said, a lot of Ducati's strengths have been negated by the introduction of that chicane but even so, he rode brilliantly.

A good day's racing all told. All three classes produced great races. Only issue I had was with the television coverage. There were incidents across all three races that we didn't see. Not even replays.

How good is Fabio... lone ranger vs the Ducatis
Ride of the day IMO.

The Yamaha has no earthly business being among the Ducatis at the Red Bull Ring, and his pass on Jack was something special.

I reckon Darryn sealed his fate with today's crash. Hope he'll be joining a good Moto2 squad and not just a grid filler.

Yeah, was a pity to see he had sent it down the road. As per my gripe above though, the coverage was not up to usual MotoGP standards so it's a pity not seeing what caused it. I wonder if the GasGas MotoGP project has confirmed a second rider alongside Pol Espargaro yet. There's a seat there potentially for DB if they don't look to fill it from within their academy. All he can do is put in some strong rides for the remainder of the season and hope.

Some rumours have Oliveira filling the GasGas seat next to Pol

I agree, coverage was poor. You'd think the regular crew were on strike.

Pol was a poor choice imo. It's no secret that I can't stant the Espargaro brothers, but credit to Aleix for what he has done on the Aprilia thus far. As for Pol, I believe the Honda would have been a much better bike if he was not involved in the development.

Aprilia RNF confirm Oliveira and Fernandez for 2023

The Portuguese and Spanish stars will line up together on RS-GPs next year in Aprilia's new Independent Team

Aprilia Racing and RNF have confirmed that Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) and Raul Fernandez (Tech3 KTM Factory Racing) will be racing RS-GPs next season in the Noale factory’s new Independent Team.
After the confirmation of Aleix Espargaro and Maverick Viñales in the official team, the pair of riders for Razlan Razali’s RNF Team has also been confirmed. Both Oliveira and Fernandez chose and strongly wanted Aprilia, despite the abundance of offers, showing great confidence in the potential of the new Independent Team.

Options are drying up for Darren - perhaps the 2nd GasGas seat?? He (Darren) DOES have MotoGP experience and could do well with Pol?

Maybe they're keeping that for Gardner ?
I doubt that. He's not the most popular guy at Tech3.

I'm sure Brad will be campaigning hard on behalf of Darryn with Pit Beirer so there may be a very slim chance he gets to stay in the top class.

Darryn's only hope right now is that there really isn't anyone in Moto2 bashing down the MotoGP door for a ride. Unless they pull a 'Darryn' and promote someone straight from Moto3 into the premier class.

Almost unnoticed (by me anyway) that Joan Mir has officially been confirmed as Marc Marquez's team mate at the factory Honda team next year. That ought to be a pairing to keep an eye on.

I'm always skeptical with the #2 HRC seat - it seems doomed

Yeah. Lorenzo promised much and didn't deliver. I think the Honda is designed around one rider and his specific style. Good luck to Mir though. He's going to need it.

Fabio again looking imperious... Pecco with a 3place grid penalty for impeding Alex Marquez in FP1. KTMs struggling again :-(

Edut: Aprilia are also looking very strong
