MotoGP 2024

Oh and this sounds like a goodbye to the GasGas brand as the Tech3 will be rebranded as well

The silly season merry-go-round continues at full pace! Enea Bastianini and Maverick Vinales confirmed at Red Bull KTM Tech 3 for 2025.

This is great and we know from the baby Jesus Pedro that the bike is eminently podium capable. The Aprilia is too of course, but Mav has not been able to find consistency on any bike so far.

There is still the question of Pramac and Ducati/Yamaha and filling the rest of the seats. Is this the biggest shakeup in MotoGP? Like every team is being impacted

It is certainly the most seismic shift in my recent memory. The permutations and possibilities just seem endless and staggering. Crazy that there are THREE factory seats (1 each at Yamaha, Honda and Aprilia) potentially up for grabs with riders who haven't yet committed. Jack Miller has been linked with a possible move to Honda but there's also maybe a Pramac option for him; having come from there and is still very much a favourite of theirs. The nice thing for the teams who are still looking for riders is that they have a myriad of proven race winners to choose from. The likes of Rins, Mir, Morbidelli, Miller & Oliveira (not to mention Bezzecchi and di Giannantonio) are all in the frame and none of them are slouches. This means the teams can take their time and assess riders.

It really makes for a compelling narrative as the season enters its second half.

Rossi is representing BMW in the 24hr Le Mans

2 potentially big but not yet announced pieces of news

1. Bez to factory Aprillia to partner Martin for 2025
2. Pramac to Yamaha also for 2025

Probably a good move for him but whether it is a good move for Aprilia, time will tell. If he can rediscover that mojo he had last year, then that will be quite a combination but if his iffy form of this year continues, then Aprilia's charge will fall squarely on Martin's shoulders. Suppose he will need some time to bed in at the new team, so judgment will have to be reserved.

I have this niggling worry in the back of my mind that MM93, now that he's starting to poosh very ard, is going to crash hard and screw up his arm again.

Pecco is there and signed for years ahead, but Ducati's second squad is now in question with George and Bez and Bestia out of the picture.

I hope he doesn't get more injuries - would be good to see what a team up of Marc and Pecco can do. Next years riders lineups are insane actually when you look across Ducati, KTM, Aprillia factories and a possibly resurgent Yamaha as well.

Toprak Razgatiloglu is pushing for a MotoGP ride next season and has already informed BMW - his employer in WSBK - of his intentions.

He is having a helluva season on the BMW in WSBK. Between 2014 - 2023 BMW only won one race, but he has already won 4 races (and 2 sprint races) this season and leads the championship.

I saw that and it's a curious decision imo. One of his stipulations is a factory seat which now only leaves Honda and Yamaha as options (second seat at each team still to be confirmed). He tested a factory Yamaha a year or two ago and didn't like it, so going back there now would be a head scratcher. And Honda is floundering badly. The only upside is that both teams are evidently flush with cash and both can make extensive use of the concession system for testing. Assuming he does get a seat at one of them, he will surely be plodding around at the back. There is talk of BMW entering MotoGP in 2027 when the new regulations come into effect so would he potentially go back to BMW then? Would BMW even take him back after he's dropped them after 1 year, even if he does leave them with a title.

The MotoGP calendar is infinitely more demanding than the WSBK one so he has to factor that in too.

Motogp is really going to the stratosphere.

Makes me wanna jump on the bike and go full throttle. Well until the next pot hole that is

Just when Frankie Morbidelli thought he had gotten rid of the Yamaha... hahaha

I'm sure he will take a slot at VR46 though
