Yeah, expectations for Martin range from low to zero. I think just getting through the weekend without crashing will already be a win. But let's see.

And yay, not only for race week, but for a race at a normal time!

To be fair, Brad was running a credible 5th before his bike gave out. Had Marc not crashed, he (Brad) would still have 6th on merit. Granted, not fighting for the win or podium, but best of the rest.

But yeah, loads of work to do to get to the sharp end.
 
Soft tyres faded FAST in that sprint! Acosta was going backwards there. Happy that Martin completed the laps

MM93 and AM73 again dominant - Fabio, Fermin and Ai had great races as well

I can understand Brad and Bastiannini going with soft tyres. That far down, you have little to lose. But Acosta and Vinales? They really shot themselves in the foot with that.

MotoGP champion Jorge Martin suffers six fractures in Qatar GP crash

Aprilia confirmed that he didn’t injure any of his limbs, but was taken to hospital for further examination.

A brief statement from the team read: “Jorge Martin suffered a chest trauma, the rider is conscious without problems with his limbs.

“Rib contusion on the right thorax with pneumothorax.

“He will be taken to the hospital to perform a CT [scan] for in-depth investigation.”

A fresh update from the Italian marque says Martin will remain in hospital in Doha for a few days for treatment on a collapsed lung.

"Jorge Martín underwent a CT scan that showed an increase in the pneumothorax, this will make it necessary to place a drainage in aspiration," the statement read. "The rider will have to remain under observation for a few days in the hospital until the pneumothorax resolves."

The team has since confirmed that Martin has also been diagnosed with six fractures to his ribs, with a statement reading: "The final examination also showed the presence of six fractures of the right posterior costal arches, from one to six."

Strange MotoGP - Where did Vinales find all that KTM speed, tyre pressures aside, and did the tyre pressure make all that difference.. The factory KTM's struggled this weekend.

There is the phenomenon of Maverick being sensational 'on his day', when all the stars align. He had great pace in the practice sessions and warmup.

I don't think there is any discernible difference between works and Herve's bikes, but there is no viable base set-up for each guy for each track, despite years of data for the machine itself. Typically KTM, the motor is a hotrod, but the rest of the package seems to be a lottery depending on the event.
 
Take Ducati out of the equation and the Manufacturer race is well and truly on

This piqued my interest. Pull the Ducatis and the rider's championship would be even spicier. 3 different race winners in 4 rounds with the top-3 on different bikes and separated by only 9-points. KTM still a little out of touch, though. Quartaro pulling a Martin and in the title hunt by being consistent in the Sprints.

A MotoGP worth watching for a change - what a ride by Quartararo. The KTM's were solid, although we didn't get to see much of the race action from them. Peco really seems to be struggling to find his rhythm this season.
 
Watched most of that race through the gaps in my fingers... Long time since I've identified with anyone as much as I did with Lucio Cecchinello waving Johann to slow down.

Unbelievable race and astonishing win for Zarco.

Need a nap after that.

That was crazy … loved the weather element and what a ride by Zarco in front of his home crowd
