So I've used decent gaming mouse pads all along, but my G5 is totally worn at the base. Those white "feet" are finito. How do you protect them? Now I've got to replace the mouse due to the worn base.

I would either buy a really cheap mouse and transfer the feet pads... or just buy a new G5 mouse :)

The Microsoft x8 comes with 3 sets of feet pads. They have varying grip levels to make it easier or harder for your mouse to slide on the mouse pad.

Google it, you can probably buy some Razer replacement mouse feet that will work on the G5. Awesome mouse btw, love mine. Not available anymore but think the design was carried over the the G500.

You can buy replacement feet for the G5 made by Steel Series iirc. I have seen them on local online shops, I'd check Prophecy or something like that.

Some people say that pieces of that aluminium foil tape work well.
