Stonehearst Asylum (2014) 6.5/10

"A recent medical school grad who takes a position at a mental institution soon finds himself taken with one of his colleagues -- though he has no initial idea of a recent, horrifying staffing change." It's okay; bit of a twist at the end.

Jurassic World (2015) - 7/10
Did you miss the mini- review part of the thread?
:p

7/10 for me as well. Some inventive shots and as always top notch CGI. Not much more can be done with this series except to recycle old material. Didn't like Donofrio in the role.

San Andreas - 4/10
What a disappointing movie. Expected more. Not even the Rock can save it. Too much Hollywood drama and over the top CGI and too little story. Avoid.

Poltergeist - 6/10
Not too shabby. But too similar to the original.

San Andreas 7.5/10. Typical popcorn CGI fest a la 2012. Check out the scene where Carla Gugino is trying to get to the roof of the building. Very well done.

Er.... Poltergeist is a remake of course it's similar.

San Andreas - 5/10, nothing special but not too awful
Jurassic World - 8/10 lotsa fun but some stupid bits
Chappie - 1/10 lasted 15min before Die Antwoord pissed me off
Terminator Genisys - 3/10 lasted 30 min before just turning it off
Tomorrowland - 6/10 was enjoyable till the last 10min and then made me want to vomit
Magic Mike XXL - 6/10 but only cos the SO got frisky watching it
Insurgent - 5/10 barely remember watching it so obviously wasn't too good or too terrible

The Martian - 9/10, absolutely fantastic, funny, smart, beautifully made, just brilliant.

Ah cool man! Definitely want to watch this.

I see you didn't enjoy The Visit?

A ****ty movie and long winded with a few scary parts but not ghost scary but mental problems scary. The movie reminded me of that other movie I posted here a few months or a year ago about that old lady with dementia or something, I cannot remember the name now.

I would guess this movie, The Martian, is like Gravity. I did not watch Gravity because Sandra Bollocks sux big time.

Also, Sandra Bullock in Gravity is not the same as Sandra Bullock in Miss Congeniality.

I was just discussing Gravity with my daughter a second ago and you are correct but the ending part was like Gravity with the space walk type scenes.

The entire tone of the movies are also poles apart, Gravity takes itself very seriously where as The Martian certainly does not... You have that one space walk scene and that's about it as similarities go.

Ok no spoilers.

The Sandra Bollocks discussion we have also had before about bad actors and actresses.

Chronicle (2012) 7/10

Yes yes I'm late to the party but it was good informative watch if a little short. Really surprised as well that most of the movie was shot in Cape Town as well.

A sequel was planned but it's anyone's guess if it will actually occur.
