a song for marion.

His wife Marion's (Redgrave) fading health doing little for his bah-humbugging outlook on life, Arthur (Stamp) grouchily agrees to step in and help out on the local choir when she proves too ill to continue. But under the watchful eye of Gemma Arterton's choir coach a strange transformation takes place.


i thoroughly enjoyed this movie. thought i wasn't going to but was pleasantly surprised. get it for a sunday relaxing afternoon movie time.

Yeah I'd peg it at either 6 or 7/10.

Main actor says nothing (mute) and as a result some sections of the film seem stretched.
However, if you're like me and enjoy Vikings cracking skulls etc, the score redeems itself. It's not an all out action/gorefest, but I enjoyed what was shown.
 
Alien - Original extended version 8/10

I always felt an affinity towards the first Alien movies, as those were what set the "bar" for my childhood horror experience.
Only after purchasing the Blu-Ray, did I find that the movie as the director would have it, should've been around 2h45m long.

Watching this version was interesting, but you can also tell why editing is important, as there are definite areas where you feel the story needs to be pushed along. Overall, enjoyed the extra.

Hmmm im not sure about his last thoughts aswell.I also believe that they died in the desert.I believe that his friend has been dead the whole time aswell and he simply hullicinated his friend being alive.What do you make of the broken cellphone at the end of the movie, the one he calls his mate with to tell him that everything has worked out too well?

No idea, I googled for a few answers, but never got a satisfactory answer.

Make sure you wait for the scene during the end credits ;)
 
The Internship - 6/10

Predicted the story line to my friend, who dragged me to it, before it started and got it spot on...because we've seen it a million times.

Something bad happens to guys, guys go work at place, they don't fit in but then becomes loved, they then screw up but comes back to save the day and one of them gets the girl.

Still, having said that, it was very entertaining. A Google product punt of note though!
 
Pacific Rim 3D

A must see on the Big Screen and in 3D. The story was average but the 3D made up for it Total Eye Candy Galore:D.
Even though 99% of the movie plays out in the dark they made the 3d work. I will watch it again just for the 3D

Liked:
- The scale, some of the hordes were pretty huge.
- The way the plague spreads (virus) is more plausible than traditional zombie flicks.

Disliked:
- The lack of gore. This is a must for me in a zombie movie. If you're expecting gory scenes like those in TWD then you will be disappointed.- The 'solution' is implausible. They try to make it seem like it makes sense, but it really doesn't.

Anyway it's a decent action movie and worth the watch if you have nothing better to do.

I give it a 6 out of 10. Didn't like the lack of gore either. Spoilers: especially during that amputation scene. I was like wtf just happened :confused:
