Moving - Cancel ADSL and transfer line?

I currently have a regular phone line, no closer packages or anything plus 384k adsl. No ADSL contract or anything, just month-to-month.

I'm moving to a new place and want to take my phone number with me.

What's the best process for me to follow so that I can avoid any installation charges?
I can live without adsl for a week or two during/after the move if needed.

My parents done this five times in the last 4 years. You just tell them over the phone you are moving and would like to transfer your line to the new premises. Doesn't cost a thing.

Ask about adsl availability. Get yourself on the waitlist if there is no space at the new exchange...
