Are you really still using WMP. It sucks. Dump it.

Even Winamp does a far better job. I'm sure there are versions of Winamp for Windows 7. Also try the K-Lite Codec Pack, which comes with Media Player Classic, a lightweight multimedia player based on very old versions of WMP.

Try Foobar2000. From all reports it works well on 7.

Only use Media player for listening to Music on my laptop - so never needed to bother with anything else - but now its getting stuck while my PC is under pressure
