*sigh*

..leave it to digitalplanet get confused and basically bollocks things up (tho', it seems to be a
sweet deal all the same!) Their
product page lists it as "Deluxe Edition PC-CD" ..only, according to the
REAL product page, what they're selling is the deluxe DVD set, which you can see when you crosscheck the feature lists on the two pages. Now, the mack-daddy of flight sims is
X-Plane which spanks Microsoft's offering to the back of the class in comparision (I mean, in the
full set it comprises EIGHT

dual layer DVDs and wants 60gig on your drive for all the maps).
Now, the one local outfit (that I've ever found) that plays in this pool is
have2have and, sure enough, they've also got a
product page up ...only their price is
R824.25! (
DANGERwillrobinson!) ..against the
R302.10 on digitalplanet
for the same thing! Clearly have2avoid are to be steered clear of on this one

..and raises the question: if they're gouging this badly on this product, how badly do they rip people off on other products? (ok, I'll make one allowance for
"never ascribe to malice what can be explained by stupidity") and concede they may have just put the wrong data up, but still - by THAT much??!

...so now, methinks I'm gonna go klap my plastiek one at digitalplanet while the going's still good!
Actually, coming back to X-Plane, the home site has the
single DVD edition for
$49 - at ZAR:USD::8:1 that works out to R392 ..say R400 - and have2gouge are
hawking it at
R784.92 FFS! ..maybe we'll just steer clear of this outfit ..oh, and I've done .pdf printouts of the respective pages for if/when (hah!) things get changed ..which I'll be sending to the h2h crook for him to
rebut (..if he chooses)) ...heh - (and between
"Schimitar" ,
"Medievil" and random 'apostrophitis', don't even get me started on how he brutalises my language!)
Oh, and for guys holding out for BF2142,
something to think about...
