I used to use Frontpage to do web design, or at least, the basics of it.

What is a good program that I can use to do a basic web site with like 2 frames etc.

I've tried Dreamweaver but it's really hectically complicated.

I use Frontpage too. it's easy and it gets the Job done - I don't have time to learn dreamweaver.

I haven't needed to play with web sites in YEARS - now my new job needs me to do lots of different things.

Client wants a basic web site, so basic, I could probably do it in Notepad :)

But ya, now, Frontpage I need to get again or a (similar) 'free' version

who the hell codes a website in notepad? dumbest thing i've ever heard....

Seriously though... I stopped using WYSIWYG type programs, dreamweaver complicates things for me... Just get free templates and modify them with a notepad application with code coloration.

Well, these days Graphics Designers use the same tools as the Print guys, Adobe ;) They also have a shed load of tools to help facility cutups/CSS etc

I thought they used dream weaver?

oh well.... notepad it is then XD

If I wanted to write 200kb web pages I'd trust dreamweaver to do a very good job at stuffing my page full of non-essential stuff

around 2003

but hey... if you want to design sites straight out of the 90's go ahead.

yeah, dreamweaver is going to make your sites look AWESOME! cause it's all about the program, right - and not the web designer:rolleyes:

you're using notepad ffs - what's that, from the 80's then?

divs over frames, might be better to start learning how to use them instead of frames with tabless layouts :)

Yeah - it's a complete mind-shift trying to do a layout using divs instead of tables. Rather learn the correct way first than punishing yourself for learning to do the table-way initially. You can do tabular data using only divs and CSS. It's quite easy actually.

divs and CSS for a basic web site with 2 frames ?

waste of time fella's, seriously.

gdisa instead of taking the hard route and learning all this divs and stuff for a baisc website, just use FP and click 1 button on the toolbar.

this other stuff is only gonna confuse you.
