MSATA SSD failed - how to recover data?

My HP Folio 13 2000 Notebook's MSATA SSD drive has failed. Upon start-up, it gets stuck at the starting windows screen. I've tried F2 and F8 menus, but it won't start into any of the safe mode options. I ran HP diagnostics and the results indicated that the SSD failed/ is failing. I've ordered a new SSD drive which I will get later today to load Windows, etc. How can I extract the data off the old SSD? I've done this before with an HDD, used an enclosure, hooked it up to a different computer and used EaseUS recovery software. Will it work with the SSD? Any other advice?
 
Probably easiest way, with out using recovery software is try boot your laptop into linux (https://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop), ubuntu desktop cd is a livecd so you can run from a cd/usb.

If linux can't load it then you will need to run recovery software e.g "EaseUS recovery software"

They do free quotes so if it turns out to be stupidly expensive just decline and get the drive back.
 
I'd just take it out, put it into external closure and hook it up to a working computer and run your choice of recovery software. GetDataBack NTFS has worked in the past for us.
 
Try clone the disc

Failing which take the drive for datarecovery
Or if you are brave you can find a data recovery program and attempt it yourself.
Proffesional data companies do not like normal data recovery programs as they say it causes damage so if the data is really valuble rather prof data recovery services( @southbit) first , if just some movies, and other nice to have, but not crytical, then use a data recovery program to see if you are lucky...
 
I've ordered an enclosure... ETA is 31 August. Can't find enclosures anywhere in RSA. PC shops even told me they don't think such an enclosure exists, because they've never seen it before. Why can't SSD's be simple and readily available like normal HDD's.... :-(

They are, just not in MSATA form factor

+1. If you data is important, I would go with South Bit. I have used them before and will do so again.
