MSN Messenger update

Hey all...

Yesterday morning I did the advised, MSN update...- all went fine and well. Later in the afternoon noticed that my internet access via the LAN was rather lagged, but did not really worry. Last night at home, I use 3G....noted that my "ticker" was running wild as my bandwidth was being chowed....could not see any processes running....and have not done a dodge download in a while...so malware or spyware were not on the radar....then did a netstat....and it was MR MICROSOFT updating their free antivirus service....ONECARE....did some reading....300-500megs of updates they do, I did not ask nor accept a request for this crap....so be warned guys.

You are asked during the MSN update if you want to install all the extras like Microsoft Mail, OneCare etc etc... you probably just clicked next all the way through and didn't pay attention to what was on the screen.
