MTN’s broadband drive

This sounds like good news for those of us that want to support MTN rather than Vodacom. The question is: will coverage really expand, or is this investment just going into upgrades in areas that already have service?

It will really expand :)

All good & well, but they will have to look at their Data Bundle pricing. At the moment I'm using it as a bolt on to my existing phone contract. As soon as Neotel becomes available to me, I will downgrade back to a 10MB bundle and not use my phone as a modem anymore.

Not one day goes by where i dont have a problem with MTN EDGE, 3G or HSDPA...
Hopefully this will actually alleviate some problems

Yeah im all for upgrading the data network, BUT 85% of MTN's revenue still comes for peer to peer voice calls... And I am sure if you are on MTN, you have experienced the joy of trying to (1) Make a call and (2) receive a call. I know with me, my phone is one and people trying to call me go straight to voice mail and visa versa.

Maybe MTN should worry about sorting out the voice network rather than trying to get into a pi55ing contest with Vodacom whose broadband network is bigger!

Hopefully this will help with voicemails, 90% of the voice mails I get have portions of white noise in them, and trying to figure out a name or a number when pieces are blanked out isn't all too easy.
