Hi,
The MTN Yello Mag is stating a reduction in price of the 2GB data bundle to R189.
The *141*6# option naturally doesn't reflect this yet. What gives MTN?

According to the mag, available to all customers through USSD. Until 30 April. Nice one!

C'mon MTN why the dragging of the feet....First the mysterious "smartphone services" now this....

Yeah, that is the prepaid price, only available from the 16th of Feb though...

There is a contract special also, I stand corrected, I THINK it is R149 pm?? I only asked the guy about the prepaid option, R189 (R200 cheaper than usual) available from the 16th :)

I'm seriously fed up with the data bundle prices of MTN. I have the 2GB add-on, that runs monthly on my phone, and that one stays at R389. For exactly the same amount of data, all specials are on the pre-paid and laptop/modem packages. When I phoned them and said I needed a bigger internet bundle on my phone, cause I get all my work emails and so on, on my phone. They were completely stumped, suggesting I should then take 2 add on bundles at a total of R778. Or, and this is the best one, buy their special of R300, and then get 'n wifi hotspot/modem, plus 3 gig, so I can carry my wifi hotspot with me, just to get the internet

8ta, unfortunately lack the coverage of MTN or Vodacom, so their deals mean sweet f-all for most of us.
Prepaid 8ta SIM use MTN towers (full 3G roaming) and 500MB bundle costs R120 (from the same towers).

Does anyone know what is going on with this "special" ?? I've been to 4 MTN outlets and all of them just blame it on the system. They know about the special but haven't been informed by "management" when it's going to be loaded on the system...

Nice MTN, bring out an ad for a special stating it will be available from the 16th and then there is no special at all...

at the same price as the 500Mb and cheaper than the 1Gb. MTN maths hurt my noggin...

has anyone tried purchasing it? After I got burnt with the "Smartphone Services" I'm a little hesitant

I just saw it and tried purchasing, said insufficient funds.
Even though I have R230 airtime.
I'm on TopUp, does that make a difference? Or this only for prepaid customers?
