I hope they extend the promotion again. To go back paying R 389/2GB ... eish...

Got a flier this weekend. Can't remember all the pricing but they had a few good offers. One was uncapped lite at R199 not R299.

The "Uncapped" lite also attracted my attention until I read elsewhere that it's actually not uncapped.

Found the flier..

Valid until 15 July 2012.

You get a MTN fastlink E352 modem included when signing 24 month contracts for the following:
500mb was R189 nowR49
1GB was R289 now R89
2GB now at R139
MTN uncapped lite was R299 now R199.

note I do not work for MTN. This is what I see on a flier collected from one of their stores.

The MTN sharelink B683 and 2GB of data is currently R189 on a 24 month contract.

The Galaxy SIII is R399 on a anytime 200 package for 24 months and includes 75mb data the first 12 months.
Galaxy SII is now R269 instead of R299 for the 24month package.

As mentioned before I do not work for them. If you need more info please contact MTN or go to a local store near you.

I see now...
Under the Exclusive Upgrade Deals:

MTN Fastlink E352 with 2GB data for 24 months can be yours for R129 per month if you upgrade instead of the R139 it will cost new clients if they joined.

Also the galaxy tab 7". is R269 exclusive to upgrade deals and R299 normal retail for new clients.

There are a few others that are valid only IF/WHEN you upgrade with MTN .

What's going on here? I just went into my contract to add a recurring bundle, here's my options:

Broadband Recurring
10M R 10.00
75M R 49.00
300M R 149.00
500M R 189.00
1G R 289.00
2G R 189.00

Now i only need about 500MB , is MTN smoking something or what? Why on EARTH would you have pricing like that?

I am on one of these 75MB for 12 months contracts (they might as well leave it, my smartphone eats 75MB in 20 minutes), so i am overriding it with a bigger bundle, guess MTN wants me to blow 2GB then.

The 2GB/R 189 is a promotion which ends 31/07/12 then the price will revert back to 2GB/R 389

What I can't understand is why there are 2 different pricing streams for data and voice packages eg. 500mb is R49 on a data package and R189 on voice? Surely we are no longer in 2007?! They should get real and understand that the smartphone environment has changed the business and offer voice and data interchangeably... do that before a cell c and vodacom and capture the market.

So that they can make more money.
How else would they get away with charging R289 for a gig of data if not for separate pricing streams?

I think that I will get a 75MB bundle and combine with OOB data until a new special comes along. Any better suggestions?

The same way 8ta has 500MB for ~R149 (standard) and 3GB for R149 (promotion) concurrently.

Just tried it & shows R389 for me.
Anyone else can confirm the R189 pricing?
