Whoohoo! Brackenfell coverage works for me! Full signal outside and 1 bar inside at my PC using an E70 (if I lock it to 3G). Must be the Stellenberg tower!

My 6630 unfortunately won't select 3G automatically, and I've lost the Netmonitor app, so can't force 3G mode :-(

I have no luck in Brackenfell. I forced 3G on my N80. No luck indoors. Haven't tested outdoors yet. But I must also admit, my reception is not the best indoors anyway.:(

Maybe I should ask MTN to put a antenna up at my place for my Data Connection.;) :D
 
This is halfway up a hill, so probably have LOS to the Stellenberg tower. (Heck, when 3G was introduced I could get a signal from the balcony - must have been from the airport tower <grin>)

Have tested the speed at my PC:
Phone horizontally on table - 1 bar coverage +- 60kbps.
Phone vertically suspended in mid-air above the table - 4 bars +- 280kbps.

Looks like I need to build some kind of phone-stand :)

Also had full-bar 3G coverage in Tygervalley today. Alas, no coverage in Milnerton yet though.

I can't see a 3G signal in N1 city area / Parow. EDGE working fine though.

I would like to know whether the following areas are being covered with 3G / HSDPA:
Bellville
Parow N1 City
Welgemoed
Plattekloof
Kirstenhof
Blue Route
Houtbay

Please let me know.

Also, anyone using the N73 here? I am looking for people to confirm whether you can set the connection on 3G only or Dual or GSM.
Nokia themselves aren't too helpful... :(
If not, does the N73 drop the connection when it is on Dual and downstepping to GPRS from 3G?

So Bellville, Plattekloof and Houtbay looks promising.

No, Welgemoed is not farmland, it is on the other side of Tygerberg hill (Plattekloof is the other side).

Nothing for Kirstenhof / Lakeside / Blue Route, Parow / N1 City (next to N1, opposite Plattekloof) or Welgemoed (maybe falls under Durbanville?)?

i thought as much, but no i still dont trace it, il list the sites under durbanville for you, but i have to run now so this will have to wait til tomorrow cause there are a couple, sorry Man:(

Well, if I remember correctly the Goodwood firestation is live, and thats right next to N1 City...
