I was at the MTN store just after 5 and finished just after 7pm.

I called retentions while I was in the store, but because I'm a business client, they said I have to call back tomorrow as SME/Business retentions is already closed. Anyway, I just told the consultant at the store that Retentions called me and offered me the 40 + 40 deal. She went through about 10 lists, checked on the various online systems and phoned someone for help, but couldn't find that deal or similar, so I eventually settled for the advertised 50GB + 1000 MTN Mins + 300 min @ R399. The SME contracts are only 12 months, so I added the cheapest device they had (Mifi device for R29 p/m) and got the contract for 24 months.

Very disappointed in mtn's BF efforts.
So I did a normal online upgrade to P20

Total chaos I tell you.
They released approximately 17 more deals for BF 2016 sims this morning to the retail stores. Yes I have the leaked mail.
How is the public supposed to know what they can choose when walking into the store. The consultants were only mailed this morning.
2 of my BF 2016 sims upgraded 2 days ago. 2 more failed today via call centre because system couldn't pick up my numbers and the 299 deal is pending.
And MTN showed total disregard to new contracts for BF 2018.

My BB please get to the bottom of this mayhem.
Is it possible for you to post those 17 deals you mention? I am looking to sign up for that Vodacom Nokia 8 Sirocco, but if MTN has something for the 2016 BF Guys thats good i'll stick with MTN.

Keen on that R349 Sim only package at the bottom. Lastly, how long are these valid for?


Deals released yesterday morning strictly for BF 2016 upgrades. Not sure when they are valid till.
I just made myself a leakster!!
And I don't feel guilty about it. The customers need direction and clarity. Now we can walk into a store and surprise a consultant.
But I gotta say, suck it MTN. Your sales channel sucks.

Don't stick to what they offer you. Choose what you want.

Is it ONLY upgrades on previous BF 2016? No way to take a new contract? Does anyone have a BF2016 contract they want to transfer?

Unfortunately yes. I myself need to take out a new contract and the options suck. Hence I have to take the Business contract route.
MTN really shunned the deals for new customers. They should fire the entire sales marketing team with all their sales degrees and hire us from the forums.

Just out of interest. For those who took the 40 + 40 with minutes for R199 or R299, have you been assigned the promo data and minutes? They said 2 to 24 hours and it's past that time frame now. They did also mention the system is slow so maybe some patience is needed

As far as I can decipher from my balance. I only received the data,minutes and maybe sms which is part of the base contract. Works out to roughly 65% of the base contract (650mbs of the 1 gigs. 95 min of the 150 min. And I still have 200 sms but not sure if that's from the 2016 BF or from the new package)

I still have 37 gigs from my 50gigs. And I have seen that go up nor do I have any night data.

For the R299 package I've got 10Gb + 2.5Gb.

Did you get an SMS saying you have been credited with promo data?

You wont get full allocation this month. Will be pro rata

I know. Im thinking I got my base package pro rated but not my promo data (the 40 + 40)

Hi, I've just upgraded from a MTN my choice 5Gb contract to a MTN my choice 30Gb contract for R299. Apparently they've received new Black Friday deals this morning/late last night. I'd like to know if the contract consist of 30Gb anytime data + another (promotional?) 30Gb anytime data and 30Gb night data + another 30Gb night (promotional?) data? As the consultant said it was effectively a 60Gb+60Gb deal.
