MTN Black Friday Discussions

The guy I spoke to at retentions said the system is set up to automatically deactivate any dual call sims when the contract is upgraded

Let's hope it's not true, I have an existing Dual Sim on my original BF2016 contract and my upgrade is still in progress.

I'm eyeing the 20GB / 200min on-net / 100 min all / 1000 SMS business deal for my wife's 2016 BF deal.

Is there any specific requirement to take out a business deal? Different number I need to phone?

Otherwise the R349 Made for Me M + 40GB deal sounds about the best (she does need minutes).

That is, of course, if some new Cyber Monday deal doesn't appear. So far these are pretty lame: https://mybroadband.co.za/news/smartphones/286792-awesome-mtn-cyber-monday-deals.html

You need to be an owner of a business or the owner of a business needs to take an account out for you. You'll need CIPRO documents and bank statements and proof of address of the business.

I had all that. But the consultant told me to transfer to a business package would take a week, by when the deals would be over

Was anybody able to dual sim their upgrade deals? I know they stopped it for the original 2016 BF deal.
What's this about? Do they not allow 2 sims on the same deal? Or do they not allow the BF sim to be used in a dual sim device?

There's a product called dualsim that allows the minutes and data to be shared with another sim card that is added to the contract.

I think MTN's description is dual call.
Dual call is something slightly different:
If you’re subscribed to MTN Contract, you can link two active SIM cards in two different devices to the same account and they’ll share the same number and voicemail. The primary device rings first before diverting calls to the secondary device. SMSs are sent only to the primary SIM.

Totall time for my call was about 1hr22mins....waited 1h5mins for the call to be answered and the lady helped me in over 15mins ..was able to get the 40gb deal...lady said their system is overloaded so will take a while for an confirmation sms
Anyone knows whether this deal is still available through retentions for R199?

My secondary SIM got deactivated the very instant my contract got upgraded

How does this entertainment pass thing work ? Apparently you get 14GB or something with the choice data offering.
