MTN Black Friday Discussions

Guys I see every second person complaining about the 36 months thing, personally I think it's a good thing.

But just in case you change your mind after a few months remember this isn't Vodacom with their draconian 75% of remaining months penalty for a sim only deal cancellation.

I've done this with MTN and Cell C in the past they both charge a very reasonable one month fee as penalty only so very easy and cheap to cancel!Don't be afraid of 36 months with MTN or Cell C sim only deals!

Correct!!!!! Emphasis on SIM ONLY!!!

Every year we complain about how kuk the BF deals are becoming. Next year will be worse than this year, 2022's deals will be worse than 2021's, so maybe MTN committing to a 36 month deal is not the end of the world.

Imagine those 50gb, 10 000min BF deals of 2016 were 36 months? Gold!!

Thanks this sort off reassures me.

Any idea if the 500gig data package roll over?
The promotional portion will not. I think the non promotional portion is 100gb a month. You chow through the non promotional portion first by default...

You do? That's weird because with the 100GB I've been getting since 2018 it still used my shared data at the end.

And the last bit always rolled over.

I think promotional normally rolls over. My 2018 BF deal is still running and I have around 80GB anytime data at the moment (usually get 41GB per month).

Upgraded to

550mins any network
15.5gb anytime data
500mb night data
50 smses
R149 x36m

Spoke to
Neo Masilo
This deal looks good. My BF18 (60+60 @ R299) contract expires next week, might go for this one. But it would be nice with more data, something like 40GB (as I data share with my parents).

Slightly off-topic, is anyone using their YelloBucks Reward points? I managed to save up 2 years worth of points and redeemed it on Incredible Connection and fast food vouchers - total value of R1600. Quite nice actually. Thanks MTN.

Im not worried about data, I get great speeds with rain unlimited off peak. I can push 500gb in a month with rain

Were you able to use up more than 1 voucher per sale? ie. 2 x R50 IC Vouchers to make R100?

Going to splash out some of my points on that this time, normally use them to fill up on data and airtime
