MTN Black Friday Discussions

Only pay for what you need, if R79 works for you, then it would be a waste to get this contract. Funny enough that I live in Fourways where fibre runs across in front of my garden. However due to the lack of maintenance, my complex is not able to draw any wire into each house (this includes Telkom). And because I live on a hill, so all receptions are terrible. I have tried all major networks and MTN seems to do the magic (still no LTE, just 3G). This is the only black Friday deal that I opened my wallet for, which actually makes sense to my situation.

Excellent- not everyone is in the catchment areas for wires or even mobile...

Did you get the deal approved? I've tried to signup from outside SA, but without an MTN number to receive the activation SMS on, I'm up the creek without a canoe :(

I do have an MTN number, and I did receive the submission SMS. I was told to wait until Monday for them to activate my contract. Not too worry about it bud.
 
Just got the SMS from MTN saying that it's conditionally approved.

Congratulations your MTN application has been conditionally approved, please wait for a call from dealer. T&C's apply.
 
30min later it's approved:

Has anyone confirmed the 50GB data? What if it's late night data

I called 808 and confirmed it was anytime data and I specifically asked if it's night surfer before I signed up for the contract. The lady I spoke to was well aware of which deal I was speaking about and directed me to the mtn direct number for upgrades

My previous contract was going to end in Dec 2016 so I was due for an upgrade. So basically it was just an upgrade for me. I assume my old contract will fall away and this one will start as normal. I was lucky I was due for an upgrade

I am on MTN prepaid and asked to be converted to contract but so far nothing even confirming the application.

I never received any SMS yet, but I did receive an email from transunion that a credit check was done.
 
I received an email that the contract has been approved (my first with MTN) and also an email from Transunion
 
Just phone them up to check, they sometimes fail to click the final process button due to the slow system issue they had. Happened to me on 2nd one. Was marked for upgrade/promotion but the final button was never clicked.
 
Will we get phone calls to confirm orders after approval? Need to change one request from porting to a new line.

Rather phone the store or consultant before the order is processed.. If it's already processed on porting, I don't think you can change it to a new line. You'll have to wait 24 months
 
It's a different network port, I already tried calling the same day (friday), twice today as well as sending the message to him on Friday to change the request to a new line, they say my sales consultant will get back to me.

Hopefully the message got to him on Friday
 
Got my sim and it's activated with normal subscription. The promotional data will take up to 7 working days to be loaded. It will be loaded with pro-rata of the amount of data for the remaining month of November (if it's loaded this month).

So I have 106:40 anytime minutes, 200 SMS and 266.67MB normal data. I presume that the minutes and data are pro rata?
