MTN Black Friday Discussions

So, I received a call from the MTN consultant i signed up with 2 years ago.

My deal consists of 60GB data only. 30GB anytime and 30GB night time for R299.

Looks like phoning mtn didn't help jack, application done usual stuff confirm address blah blah blah, now nothing sigh.Not going to press any further if they send out SMS fine, if they don't do the allocation by next week Wednesday they can get bent.Really wanted to skip the BF mania...

What was your average usage as per the sms received?
 
Looks like Telkom might be a great choice then on one of the free me bundles and their roaming agreement with Vodacom

If you compare this to Telkom's October special called "The big deal" which was 60GB anytime + you get a free router for R359pm. That's a far better deal in that you don't have to wait until midnight to spend your 30GB night time data
 
Got my sms and activation this morning all done, however I guess I should have gone with the router as that has a promotional once off data of 20gig plus the 14gig pass. Only got 2.5gig promotional data for some reason.
 
Why not just wait for black Friday if the current deal compares to the October deal?

Black Friday deals is going to be phones and devices I don't need, minutes/sms I don't want nor need and I can skip BF mania period, my stuff is sorted and I am getting 40gig total data, at R80.0 more I have been paying afrihost for 4gigs of data a month which simply wasn't enough, 40 gig is more then enough.If there is a better BF deal then so be it, basically skipped all you suckers....:p Forgot also needed to cancel afrihost and afrihost+ before the 23rd or else you get billed for the next month, so now I don't have that headache either.

The other thing that is nice is doing a contract about now the prorate is about a 3rd of the costs for the first month, so now you don't end up paying so much with the first debit order plus I am getting the new data allocation for next month on Monday.Pretty much planned this.

Did they have the same double data promotion in October ?

Except you don't know what the bf deals are going to be, at least it'll match what you have, at best there'll be a slightly better deal.

As for bf mania, I got my bf deal over the phone driving to work? Didn't even sign a document.
 
Yeah night data wont work for me cause i dont download much ..
I wont even get a call cos my sim is in a router

I am fine with night data, my clients are in different time zones so often have to work late at night or early in the mornings.

4gigs isn't enough for a router, my router has basically been picking up dust, will be setting it up this weekend.
So I am chuffed and happy, just need to update the firmware.

The thing is I have another contract, @R60 odd a month I can migrate if there is a nice deal on BF, so not particularly worried, I actually paid the R1400.00 contract fee into my MTN account, so migration would be a breeze.Did this just in the event the bf deals suck :p

Are these SIM only pricing?
