MTN Black Friday Discussions

I still didn't get any SMS, not even the SMS with the Opt In option. Anyone know how I can opt in?
I never got an SMS but when I went to the MTN store they had 3 "specialised" offers available for me.

Anyone have any idea what the voice oob rates are on the mtnchoice data plans ? Or if it's possible bolt on a voice bundle and the costs thereof?

I got this email today for my wifes contract. I also had the Black Friday special but chose to upgrade last month to get a Note9.

There are 4 numbers on my MTN account, only1 emial linked. My father got the email for only 1 of the numbers in our family
I had two linked to my one email and got both about 10 minutes apart

Yes you can bolt on minutes, the mychoice data contracts is basically a top up contract, you can't go oob, the credit limit provided is how much you can bolt on, you can't use it for calling or any thing. You can also load airtime separately and buy voice bundles as needed, or use the airtime as needed.

Mychoice contracts are awesome in this regard no unexpected bills shock, no oob, no nothing, if you need some thing you bolt on whatever is needed, and you know exactly what your bill is going to be at the end of the month.

Don't think I'll be seeing an email. Have never had a statement, invoice or any communication from MTN via email since taking the contract out 2yrs ago....

Has anyone tried to get one of those deals in the table via upgrade in store?

A link to this please?
Exactly what I was lookin for.

These offers aren't quite enough to get me to sign on a dotted line. I'll definitely wait to see what offers pop up for BF. Right now I'm sort of hoping Telkom have a FreeMe 5GB deal bundled with 100 minutes for about R300 - that will be a real winner for me (remembering that this includes 50GB LIT video).

Otherwise, if somebody comes to the party with a good 10GB offer I can combine that with the uncapped rain off-peak. Anyway, time will tell.

This is what I went with Double Data for 24 months for R299, with a router it's R334.00

With these current MTN offers you could have gotten 20GB for R149, or R299 gets you 60GB anytime data. Maybe you can cancel your previous order and reapply for one of these?

Mmmmmm, this could work for me. So technically one could go for the R149 20gb deal and bolt on 100 minutes of talk time each month or as needed @R136 extra, total R285?

I love the my choice data contracts, plain simple and no surprises, one of the reasons I didn't go with BF deals, is the data doesn't roll over. With this one , I get less data, but the non promo data gets rolled over, be wary of that.

Yes basically you getting a my choice promo data contract, so you can either load airtime and buy data bundles or minutes, or bolt on from mycontract page. ;) BTW is actually cheaper to load airtime and buy minutes, then bolt on.

As explained these BF promo's has zero data roll over to be honest is massive waste.
I guess that depends how close to the cap you're expecting to come most months.

For me 60GB with no roll-over beats 20GB (plus 20GB night express) for the same price hands down. Similarly, I'd rather take 20GB without rollover for R149 than 20GB with rollover for R299. But as I said, that's my preference.
