The 36 month thing had me apprehensive too but he explained it's not hard to cancel it.

i havnt had to cancel BF deals and i dont know anyone who has

but technically its sim only so no early cancellation fees and stuff

You pay for the pro rata of the month you decide to cancel and an extra month so it still costs but it's not the end of the world.

In fact if they had pulled finger like they did last upgrade, I'd have already renewed with another 24 month contract rather than a 6 month one.
My invoice also still shows the full R4977 but the outstanding amount on the app has come down from that to R1320. So I'm not sure what's going on.
 
I haven't been able to get my invoice on the app, when I select the bill and add my email. I get an SMS about 2 mins later saying request cannot be processed, for about 2 months now. I told the consultant I am not paying invoices I don't receive she says no she will send it to my email- nope nothing from her. Of course I will still get a debit order on the 1st.

i also had the issue, set up a gmail account and it then worked fine

My email is gmail, let me try another account ...nope same problem. Also now get an error on bill so far tab, so maybe everyone on this thread is paying for my bill.
 
two R169 data contracts suddenly balloons to R1630.
Unethical of them at the very least

Lodged at complaint via 135. let us see
 
Now I don't know what's going on. Guess the upgrade happened but why so much data? Im to scared to use the internet now. But I need to.

Also checked and mine is R3600. Been on the phone with MTN (135) now and the lady is adamant that I will have to pay that. Manager or supervisor was not available, maybe handling someone else's complaint

Funny how the managers is always on the phone. I was on a call waiting for two hours this morning and then they forwarded me to retentions who then forwarded me back to customer care and that's how the dance went on for two hours.

I actually stopped my MTN contracts in the beginning of 2015 due VERY bad service when something is not correct and swore I wil NEVER get MTN contract again.

Then along came black Friday 2016 and they hooked me again.
 
You'd hard pressed to find a South African company with worse customer service than MTN (and that's saying quite a lot)!!!

Their product/network is pretty awesome for the most part but their sales and marketing is absolutely horrendous!!

Yeah they definitely have the best deals and the network performance for me is really good. It's just this billing thing has been a nightmare to deal with. I also got a SMS with a order reference number? What's that for? The guy at retentions never said anything about any hardware.
