MTN Black Friday Discussions

So I upgraded my 3 BF deals from 2018 on Friday with the retentions department. It still hasn't changed. They said that they need to do credit checks for the upgrade and that I would get a text once it's done.

Just checking to see if there's anyone else here who's having the same experience?

Now, no internet services on the sim. Calls and sms's work fine but I just cannot get a data connection. WTF?!
 
Mine have always been in my name but I was part of a corporate program. For BF2016, I got discount for a handset.

Fundamentally, there must be other differences between home and business though eg. I wonder what the “data+ pro” is all about?

They'll be in your name + a registered business, you have to show business docs to be legible.

Switch the device off or remove the sim for an hour or so, sometimes the SIM needs a window of being offline to get re-provisioned, or something to that effect.

Just switch to flight mode and back on.

Mine worked immediately after doing that.

Have done several times. Spoke to 135. They said major network issues with upgrades and the upgrades are taking up to 24hrs to restore internet services.

Never experienced this before with a simple upgrade.
 
Hi all I have been upgraded to the 150 + 150 Gig contract for R299. Can anyone explain to me how the 150G is made up. My app show 100GB Promo and a recurring inclusive bundle.
 
And is calls and data cheaper on one of them.

That sounds about right, the 100gb is the base data

Mtn champion told be 500+500 opened up for business on black friday and its probably still open.

Earlier post said they couldn't get it for their Bf business contract but results may vary depending on the consultant you get.
 
Have any of you guys on the 500+500 contract started using the big bundles yet?
I downloaded 50GB last night and it didn't use the the night data, it used some of the anytime bonus bundle data of which is the only bundle that says shared on it.
 
Has anybody received feedback on the Invoice issue that surfaces about 2 weeks ago (i guess we all went through the black Friday euphoria , not worrying about the brick wall that is going to hit us soon :P)

I did receive an sms that they are working on it, but my app give (Via account -> Bill)
Bill so far -> There was an error processing your request
Outstanding bill -> R2210 ( should be about R700, maybe R800 max)

since its on debit order, i believe it is probably too late already (unless the outstanding bill will only be debited end of Dec?)

Looks like an mtn reseller, id stay stay away ive had experience from these type of resellers that get liquidated mid contract (GT cellular is an example)

ouch! Same here (didn't think that previous bills would show anything important. November = R3491)

sigh -> guess calling them is the only way. getting a call reference where i will politely tell them that a debit order of that amount will be reversed
