MTN Black Friday Discussions

Just spoke to retentions department they do not have a R299 600gb day + 600gb Night. The R299 offered is 500. R349 600 day + 600 night (sharable 400gb)

Do you perhaphs have the deal code?
They're so inconsistent. Just received an email with the docs:

Contract Initial Period - 36
Deal ID - 2022164 CT 00010 CVM SAVES BF
MRC (incl. VAT) (Excl. all add-ons / VAS’s) - R299

I took 2 x other R99 deals, but the paper work on the one is showing as R669, so I called back about that. They're checking and will revert.
While on the line, I Asked again, the R299 x 36 she gave me is definitely 600gb+600gb. In fact she confirmed, "One point two tera bytes".

Mine is 500GB + 500GB @ 299 x 36 (code: 2022164CT00010)

She said to me the 600GB + 600GB is 349 x 36

Check your contract document. My package is MyChoice 400 hence 400GB is shareable
Same code, but i was told it's 600 +600.
and R299 x 36 months.

The issue is how they load it. I took a 52gb and 125 min one for R235 x 24 months. Think it is the Mega Gigs XS with 50gb normal and 2 gig promo.

They went and loaded ALL data as promo and now I cant share anything. So I am currently on the phone with them for almost 1h30 to see how we can rectify. But then they transfer me to customer care (by the way, WHY are their lines braking up so bad? or is that just me), they on their turn tell you to speak to retentions. Bit deurmekaar
Yes
that was my worst call EVER
worse than what Cell C used to be, FOR YOURSELF

Those that still have a year to go on our BF 3yr R499 500gb contract can we pay the early upgrade fee and get this deal, is that even possible?

And these contracts definitely can be used via Datashare?

I got a quote from MTN on the upgrade fee, it will be around R2600, so it is not worth it

I remember there was an article that said the cancellation fee with MTN is the remaining device fee and 2 months value of the contract

Base package is MyChoice 400 so definitely 400GB is shareable.

I suggest you give em a call on that cancellation fee. It seems to be fluctuating for everyone.

Fortunately my contract has no device so hopefully only the R180 odd early upgrade fee.

Is there a direct line for retentions, what’s the easiest way to get through to them?

I just spoke to retentions and their systems are offline or so they say but they did confirm it is R299 Mychoice 400 and 600GB + 600GB and it appears those that upgraded 2yrs ago to the My choice 400gb/R499 3yr deal with no device are legible to do an early upgrade to this cheaper deal with more GB's but the lady couldn't say what the cancellation fee would be due to system offline.

I just noticed it's the last day of the month, will all these deals be expired by tomorrow?

An amazing fact discovered today. Mtn and debit orders via credit cards (check your credit info please)

3 months in 2020 my debit orders fell on a saturday or sunday.

Mtn listed me as in “arrears”! But they pulled it late!

So nice to discover such crap, and its not my fault!

Just another reason to switch to cash and pay per CC manually

What wording or terminology can I use to oblige them to offer me the deal tomorrow if it is expired, considering I did try upgrade within the offering window?

That being said the call centre lady that was helping me did say she wasn't aware that it would expire today.

Honestly from my past experience, they will still honour a deal through December. I've renewed @ retentions in the past right through to the end of December and deals were given.

Yeah I'm hoping tomorrow goes smoothly for everyone...especially with that whole 20k debit order limit bs.

I'm switching to cc from Monday for sure

Second this...the way I look at it, they would allow it...rather retain a contract customer than try very hard to get a new one

I changed to CASH this week, and changing my limit to max R300. I was approved instantly for a huge amount. Just crazy!
