Is it normal for MTN to charge you more than what you should pay monthly when it's your first month of a contract? I got R608 but my monthly cost should be R399.

I queried it with them and got this reply earlier in the week

Please note, customers who signed up for anyone of the My MTN Home MTM FTU deals during the month of November
to date have been affected.
An error on the system resulted in the 1st Dec invoice to reflect the upfront payment amount incorrectly.
The customer’s MTN account will be credited and the customer’s debit order amount for January will be reduced by the overcharged amount; or the customer can request a refund.
An apology SMS and email will be sent to all affected customers.
If the customer did reject the debit order, please remind the customer to make payment of the outstanding amount by the 25th of December for their January provisioning.

How do I claim the 20GB bundle from takealot ,the one with the hisense modem?
Do you mean over and above the R10GB + 10GB? I am wondering this myself.

 
I expected something to be in the works but 10% up effective 52 days into the contract is bad form, it was a stretch to take the package I selected, would have settled for less.

I can cancel anytime, but would then loose the bonus data if I went to month to month.
 
We should all express our concerns over this as MTN continues to do this to us during every contract period. We can almost no longer know for sure what are we in for when taking the contract but are you expected to just accept.

So much for retention deals.
The thing I find extra weird is they are going to increase all contracts even if they had just been started, which makes no sense. It’s still fked up but kind of understandable increasing an old contract due to increasing costs but a contract that has just been signed you would hope they had already factored in current costs?

I upgraded to the BF deal for the S23+, on the 26th, however, the phone wasnt available on the day, and they indicated they will honor the upgrade deal at that time. However 3 weeks later now, they apparently cannot find the watch that goes along with the deal anywhere, I can see its in stock all over the place, even so on their website, is there any way I can see what is going on with them, as this is getting a bit long in the tooth now.
Are there any official channels I can go through? I tried phoning, but they just hang up after ~2minutes after having me on hold for 30+minutes, and their whatsapp is non-responsive.
 
Hi. To those that "upgraded" to the 150gb + 150gb package for R318? Did you get all your data? Coz I only received 100gb anytime + 50gb night data. Logged a ticket over a week ago and they still haven't given me the rest of the data. Just checking it I'm the only one or if they're having issues with this package generally.

Does anyone have a working email address where we can highlight problems on minutes and data allocation on the contract. I previously emailed someone but now the email does not work anymore (probably resigned).

MTN has AGAIN managed to screw up the minutes that I am suppose to receive as per agreement when doing upgrade. When I followed up the feedback from their system states that my allocation is correct and that PROMO minutes are not guaranteed. Call centre agents (if they work for MTN or not) is not helping and seems like all supervisors currently on leave.

The only way to resolve it is by going into an MTN direct store, don’t even bother with the call centre

Deal code: Operator didn't want to share it
60gb data anytime - 200 minutes anytime @24 months

I asked what's the fee to upgrade, he said R232 once off. So I upgraded the upgrade lol

Looking to renew and old BF contract and want to get this but same story the retentions consultant couldnt find the deal....and "ignition" said they are just customer care ?

I've had some strange allocation for my contract today, the minutes were correct 200mins but the SMS said only 15gb data allocated. The app shows 30gb and I was supposed to get 60gb.

Will contact them today and enquire
 
They have reduced the number of datashares from 25 to 5 so that’s could be your problem

only have 2 on it. I upgraded to a new 50GB data sim late Nov (BF), and been away so not sure if its actually working, or needs a reset.
Will check this eve if data is actually sharing...
