I was actually hoping for 12 month packages, so that's nice to see. Pricing is bad though.
Hurts going from Sky @ R499 to Sky @ R699. Downgrading to Yellow Deluxe may be another option. Will have to run some numbers.

Does MTN still have their Premium Help Desk for Sky package users? That upped the Sky value significantly in the past.
 
I am wary of the price increases on the fixed contracts. One in a few months by March... and if on a 3 year contract further escalation.

Paying R329 4 months into the contract. It was a 36 month contract taken in December 2023, so weirdly the app shows the plan is expiring in May 2025. That is 18 months. Now I am further wary, what happens to the promotional pricing and bundles then as there will be no BF special upgrades?

I am out of the loop if other's have the same experience in this thread, Thinking that my R299 from last year could use a early cancellation and a new signup for another R299 contract.
 
Any cool deals?? The website is showing meh deals. Tried to go through one early this morning. 30 mins ago, somebody called me to upgrade contract since they picked up I was trying to choose a deal. I said I was looking for something similar to the BF Deal I had, 600 mins, 15GB. He said there is nothing yet. He will call when there is something similar. I guess I will never get another phone call again

Went with the 200gig @ R299 BF deal 24 months. It is R85.00 less than the current deal I had and this one is 50gig more. Pretty happy with that. The normal price for the 200 gig package is R449 a month saving R150.00 I am not complaining about that, would have been great if it was R199.00.

Now have to phone again to get the samsung A04e deal for 149.00


decided fck it. will buy the phone cash....

There are barely any deals in terms of quantity, and they're barely deals in terms of value either.
Can only assume there is still more to come...

Yeah there are mostly likely secret deals that are better, but those are per individual. The last deal I got 3 years ago, I needed to forward the email of the deal offer which was 300gig split 150 anytime and 150 night express, before they allowed me to take that deal. They got a lot more anal about deal codes, they also did away with those codes in the yellow trader and emails, because people were sharing those codes.

MTN also quietly did away with night express, not that it bothers me all that much barely used it anyway, it is lousy they did away with it.

Pretty happy it is 24 months compared to the 36 months I had to sit through the last one as their data packages gets overhauled every 2 years or so.

But watch this space vodacom is going to one up MTN or match them.

Yeah there will likely be BF sale for new contracts on BF, either way I am happy with the 200gig deal that I got. More than enough

This is a nonsense deal.
I am currently on a BF Retention deal. 400GB day + 400 GB night @ R299, expires next year.
So this 200GB @ R299 is terrible.

it is perfect for me. not everyone qualifies for the other deals. 200gig is a lot, considering 8 odd years ago I start on 20/20, then 40/40 then 80/40 and 150/150, 200 gigs is more than enough.

on the 150/150 for the entire 3 years didn't run out of data a single time pretty much on average used a 100 - 120 gig, with 50 gig that carried over from the previous month, average 4 gigs a day, steam updates once a week, lots of anime and youtube, do windows updates once a month.

I am paying R85 less and with 50 gig more honestly it might be a bad deal to you but it is a great deal for me, someone else might feel the same. I am chuffed.... :). Paying 299 instead of 449 ? R150 saving I consider that a good day in the office, even if they do increases in the next two years I am still better off.

Losing hope , wonder if they being stingy cos their financials are not great. 18% down this quarter or something.

Debating moving to superflex 10GB deal and be done with it. Unlimited mins and SMS is a good package. Just wonder why i have to move to prepaid for it.

Have you tried rententions. ? I had zero issues getting my deal via rententions. I simply told them I need to 200gig and the agent gave me the 200gig bf deal, worth a try. Tell them what you need hopefully they come to the part and offer you something worthwhile....
