Whats up with the 083 number??

It doesn't seem to be working on our side. I tried 3 different machines and all give same result. Like an engaged tone.

Its the same result I had on the other 083 number

Sorry DD. You know how I.T is. Suddenly everyone has problems and Im running around like a lunatic. These users are really keeping me busy eish!!

Anyway I handed all the details over to the secretary who is back today. She was talking to a Lizette who apparently has sent the info over to business center. Thus far the GPRS is still not working.

I just took over the technical bit trying to install the device with our lotus notes server and then soon realising the GPRS doesn't work, only the voice. Sorry Ive been referring to the secretary but she is actually the GM's personal assistant (PA). She has been doing all the form work and follow up and has been struggling with MTN with this specific BB device for a while.

As for the fax numbers given to me they did not work. The 083 numbers don't seem to register on our fax machines ?!? However the MTN Accounts Manager I mentioned to DD on the PM apparently said that she has no idea why I had to do that letterhead with the GM's signature for authorisation which Sebastian asked for. Snakepit just offered a helping hand by providing another fax number so that he would forward the letterhead through to Sebastian. But it was also an 083 number which didn't work on my side :/

Im the PC support admin so I do the installing and the troubleshooting but this problem has been going on for a while and I have been thrown in the middle being the only IT guy available.

Basically all I think is that we need someone at MTN to approach someone else and ask what does it take to get this done? And then have it done. In my phoning around it became apparent that we need BES to be installed on MTN side thats all. Im assuming this will sort out the Data Connection Refused error. The MTN Accounts Manager for us should have all forms necessary and if she doesn't she should let us know what it takes and what needs to be filled in and signed to get this working. Its a corporate agreement we have with MTN. I work for an international company and this seems to be how we work.

I have sent DD our company details and contact numbers btw.

This just in. The PA says Lizette just phoned her and they figured out the problem. The MyChoice705 was not loaded for the device. We should expect everything to be up and running by tomorrow.

I checked the Msisdn now. Product is still not loaded. Will check again in the morning

Thanks once again. I must say the response from you guys on these forums does feel reassuring somehow.

Oh and I just read a thread on the guy being charged R1800.00 for his account, and he has his phoned switched off and the bill is still climbing!?! Eish good luck with that lol :)

Service still wasn't loaded today. They say they had trouble doing it and offered us some other ProCall package temporarily which we haven't accepted yet

I have just checked the Number you supplied. It is on a MyChoice 705 which is eligible to be loaded with BES High. I am not sure where the issue is. Who is your company dealing with at MTN?

The person has still not got back to us to say the package has been loaded. They must be having some problems there.
